hey, im about to start my first grow soon. im growing 10 different strains. i was wondering if it would be best to make little dwc for each since they are diff strains or have them all hooked up to a resevoir? also, whats the first things i should look up on nutes? anyone used dutch master one? hows that?

To get the most from each strain, I would run them in seperate buckets.

Putting them on the same nute regiment will cause probs with 1 or 2, I'm sure.
See and seen it all the time.

Don't know about Dutch Masters. Just PBP and GH.

i agree with flo. different buckets. in my opinion differeent even if same strain. because the roots will tangle together and if one ends up being a male u are gonna catch hell trying to get tehm apart alot of stress on the female. so one plant one bucket. and i use ionic nutes with good results

yea i was gonna do a dwc system, each plant having its own container. is it possible to tell me if some strains grow similarly? since cost does come into this, if i can cut some money back then thats always good and thanks.

the biggest diff in strains will be indica vs sativa.... as indicas take 8-10 weeks to flower...and sativas can take 12-16 weeks to flower.... I'm experirencing this right now....I mistakenly planted indicas and sativas....in the same bins worse yet.... so as I have some plants getting ready for harvest....and I'm flushing the Bins for THAT ...the Sativas are just starting to trichome....and have at least 6 more weeks....so after harvesting indicas, and untangling roots (doh !)... I'll add some bloom nutes back to the sativa bins...and wait for a second harvest ....the good thing is .... I'm currently overcrowded...and removal of indicas will let sativas spread out and catch some light ...I figure they'll explode the last month of flowering .

good luck with your multi strain grow.... keep them ALL seperated ...imo...

damn -__- something tells me that dwc with seperate strains would be either alot of $$ or a pain. with single bucket dwc systems i have seen, the biggest annoyance is how to fill and drain easily without lifting the lid. has there been a past post of a diy easy dwc system? or should i change plans? all opinions are welcomed.

i service mine all the time without removing the lid.... I (optimistically) have 8 , 3 inch netcup holes in each lid (of 10 gallon steralite plastic bins).... even though I'm down to only 2 or 3 plants per bin... I have empty netcups with neoprine lids in all the empty holes....so I just work through those holes.... I have a kitchen sink rinse faucet (on a flexible hose ....you know ?) to fill up the bins.....and I use a battery powered, wand shaped, liquid pump to pump water or whatever out of the bins....

multi strains is goign to be more complex and cost more , no matter what method you use to grow them ... I only have 5 diff strains going ,,, and it's a cluster fuck ....But I'll learn from this and do things smarter next time....I still want to grow several diff strains , but will really concentrate on methods of timing and strain choice...

I think if you start 10 strains ...you'll be lucky if you end up with 5 successful after it's all said and done.

keep it simple ...and learn as you go ...and all will be good
