DWC Lucas formula

Hi everyone,

I'm going to be using 5 gallon buckets in a 9x5 tent. I decided to use the lucas formula for the feeding schedule because it's the easiest and very effective. I have a few basic questions:

1) I'm going to buy a clone from a local dispensary. When I throw it in a bucket do I feed it right away or only use water at first? For how long? When I add nutes do I go to full strengthorhow much?

2) When adding new nutes should I top off or replace the bucket entirely? Why?

3) Any suggestions on lighting and his many buckets to use? I want to grow the plants as big add I can.

All info helps. Thanks in advance!

i add nutes from day one at 1/4 what bottles say about 400 ppm's or less and hydroguard

this clone took long time to root in cloner WP_000102.jpg two weeks today WP_000118.jpg

I swear by hydroguard. Kept my RDWC under control in 80 degree res temps =P. I've ran sterile/h202 before with good results and this is my first hydroguard grow. I can already see a difference in the roots (100%). 32$ a bottle is a bit expensive, I'll have to dodge that eventually.

I know the 10.5 is a typo, I'm guessing you meant 1.5 pounds per 5 gallon bucket. Are you sure? Is that dried bud? Hygrohybrid gets about the same using way bigger buckets how is that possible?
Those who grow will always grow more than those who don't. :leaf: Think about it :leaf:

How tall do you let the plants get in veg before switching to flower? Do you scrog?
Depends what strain. Too many variables I think the question is very open ended. I ran Blue Widow from Dinafem in a 5gal DWC for a month or two before flower. You need to consider stress, height, nutes, etc. Easier to get with an indica and some FIM/topping techniques.

Doesn't moving the bucket so frequently bother the plant?

No. Plants respond well to training, wind, and stimulation. Without air flow the plant wouldnt be able to exchange oxygen and co2.

It also makes your stalks thicker which makes it easier in the bud stage when things can get a little top-heavy.

Wattage means weight. Adding more plants doesn't mean more weight. It doesn't matter if you fill the tent with x10 plants or x2 big plants. If you fill your lighting foot print correctly it won't matter which method you go. It's personal preference from there.
