DWC/Aero water temp high

I'm running Stinkbud's Aero Veg and Solo DWC/Aero units as a test from my usual Coco runs. Plant growth is quick but I'm noticing water temp to be the same as ambient room temp. The book says he runs room at 78 F and water stays below 70 F with no chiller. I don't understand how that's possible. He claims the Aero works like a swap cooler but I don't think there's much evaporation going on to cause a cooling affect. What am I missing?

I have run rails for years in a room that is held at 82 lights on but my RES's never go above 71, and I use no cooler. What is your timer cycle? What size res?

20 gal Rubbermaid Brute bucket filled with 7 gal of solution. Jets spray at 1 on 4 off with the Titan fixed timer. I run a solo under a 1000w wing along with my other 5 gal cocos and another Aero Veg bucket under T5s. Both water temps run 2 degrees below ambient (measured just outside of any radiant heat from lights) at most. His place s show a big rectangle access hole where mine is a hole just big enough to fit the 1/2 in drain off pipe. Could that be it? I was afraid of making a cutout that big exposing the roots to light.

You stated your problem in the first sentence. 7gal? In a 20gal tote? Many improvements and upgrades have been done on the original design of stinkbugs but the first I did was change res size. Those thin cheap totes scare me, go with a min 27gal tuff box but I use 50gal..

OK, Just picked up the larger 29 gal Tuff bucket at the HD. How much water should I be running in this? I'll run it over the weekend and report back my findings.

I run an aerflo 60 with 40 gal res.. My room temp was 73 and res temp at 71.. I needed to buy a chiller problem soleved res temp is at 68 now
