DWC 150hps grows

Hello to all and welcome. I am currently on my 2nd grow with 150hps. Ive done outdoors and with higher watts but this time i decided to go small and stealth since i really dont wanna have too much in my hands and i dont want no problems with pigs, so thats why i had to downgrade a bit and do only personnal use so its more manageable and i still have plenty of time for black ops and fifa11. My previous grow was in soil in containers that werent even a gallon and I ended up with a little less 2 1/2 oz. I still have some from my last harvest which was LSD Fem (barneys farm) and NorthernSkunk reg (peakseedsbc). BTW anyone that wants to try the LSD from Barneys Farm i really really recommend it for anybody thats looking for a very strong high.

So on with this grow. Its already been in flowering for 2weeks going on to the third on friday. I started veg with 6 26w cfls (daylight) and using GH nutes. I am doing the lst as well i have two bluecheese (barneys farm feminized) in a 19qt container. Since i started flowering ive switched to jacks hydroponic nutes. Im still working with the space as we speak doing some upgrades and what not.............. heres a few pics from yesterday and a few days ago.... any comments are welcomed. if you have pics of your hps dwc setup please post them i would like to see your project as well............ ok enough of this and on with pics.............




the pics are in different order, i would fix them around but its a bitch when i have to leave for work..... anyhow i plan to update often and i plan to keep this thread for a while for all my upcoming grows,,,,,, lsd,bluecheese,northerskunk,ak48,c19xak47,grandaddy purp, white widow, mk ultra, etc etc etc

Nice looking girls man. just a 150 on them? they're liking it so far! have you flowered in DWC with that 150w before? my first 2 grows were with a 150 in soil and in hempy. ended up getting airy buds but a lot of that was me learning as well! Just wanting to comapir results, no ill intentions. I'm running a similar setup to yours right now with 2 girls in each of the rubbermaid DWC containers. I've still got my 150w HPS hanging in there to start them out in the flower chamber, then they move over to the 400W HPS to finish up. Also have a few CFL's thrown in there for side lighting and such. here's a pic

This is looking good, I was wanting to try LSD for my next grow. You said you recommend it?

welcome aboard my fellow potheads glad to have yall here........

i have flowered with the 150hps and my buds werent airy at all except for the lower buds where the light wouldnt reach them that much........ what i normally do is LST all the way and make sure everything is even (its a pain in the ass but it pays off at the end). The last grow i was using lucas formula for flowering and it really did a nice job but i would have the ppm @1000 and they both loved it.......
@ thejointproject.... i would do 400w but the heat is my concern and truth be told i really dont do bad at all with the 150. my last harvest was about 2+ months ago and i still have enough to last me probably the first week of january...... i did grow with 400 before but it was waaaaaaayyyyy too much for me and not only that i also had to worry abouot heat all the time, so now im better off using 150w and still have plenty to give away...... right now my goal is 1gram per watt.... it is possible and even more but i just have to make sure everything is smooth........
@grandaddy87 yea bro i highly reccomend lst if you have kimited space and want to get the most out of it and dont worry it looks way harder than what it is..... youll be surprised on how quickly youll get the hang of it..... piece of advice dont bend it to the point where its about to crack be gentle and treat her like a female should be treated with caress and tenderness.......... btw i like your name (grandaddy87) reminds me of grandaddy purp which is what ill be growing next alongsides with AK48......

Today i did some little adjustments to my grow setup and over the weekend i will convert the 150hps into a cool tube...... tomorrow in the morning i will take some pics and post what i did to the little space....... ive found out an easy and very inexpensive way of making an enclosure with poly panels and black and white panda film......

one more thing before i forget i always play music for them at night, not just any kind of music, its specially meant for plant growing........... heres a link to what i use......its called sonic bloom and trust me guys this shit really really works............http://www.originalsonicbloom.com/store.html read about it a little bit so you can have an idea of how it works and why it works.... i recommend it to every body that is into cultivating not just only 420 but fruits vegetables plants flowers etc etc etc

I like your setup. I plan on switching from soil to something like this in my cab post first harvest. Def interested to see how everyhing comes out. I may have a few questions along the way lol.

You have feel free to ask bro I'm always willing to help and if I can't help I will try my best to point you to the right direction. Thanks man i ended up picking up the armoire on craigslist for like 30 bucks. I knocked out the shelf and painted it white, put in my 150w HPS and a 23w CFL (hole in the back is t stick another CFL through). right now it is at 78 during the day (lights on) and 70-71 at night (lights out).

Only problem I'm having right now is humidity. I think I'm going to drill a couple 2 inch holes in the bottom for an intake and install a dryer vent in the top for an exhaust, but all in all i think its coming along great so far. especially for my first time ever growing

have you tried adding some Dry rid? I actually have a couple of jars of Dry rid and my humidity % is @ between 39-58 at the most. But i do have two pc fans for intake and two for out. You gave a good idea of searching for armoire in craigslist. I already found one for 55$ so ill see if its still available...... I have plenty of pics to load after my daugthers open up their gifts. BTW MERRY CHRISTMAS to all.

Very nice. Mine aren't quite as healthy looking at the moment haha, but i have the problem taken care of and they should be back to normal by Monday.

One quick question and I'm not sure if its dumb or not haha, but how do you wire the computer fans in? do you use a PC power source and just wire them in that? I wanted to use those as they are quieter than the big corner fan i have in there now.

first off let me just say there is no such thing as a stupid question bro. so dont ever let that stop you from asking a question anywhere. and to wire the fans all you need is to get any adapter that has a dc output. the input could be in ac but the output should read in dc. and you have to look at how many volts the pc fan can handle. most are able to handle 12v but there are some that only handle 9v or less and then there some that handle 24v. oh yeah and you have to look at how many milliamps (mA) the fan can handle too. for example i have an adapter that outputs 9v and 2000mA (milliamps) and that converts to 2 amps. so i would have to use a fan that could handle a 9v @ 2000milliamps or less. never go over, it will only burn the fan.

changing subject damn i still like your armoire. you dont know how bad ive been looking for one just like yours. i would work magic if i had one of them. im going to try to get one hopefully and if i have enough money this week.

thanks. A good friend of mine is a computer engineer so i'll have to grab some fans this weekend. They sound easy enough to get hooked up.

As far as the armoire goes i got real lucky i was searching for like 2 weeks. Idk if you have a place like this around you, but we have a furniture store that only sells unfinished bureaus and armoires for dirt cheap. you just have to paint/stain them yourself which is some work, but saves some money if you cant find anything on craigslist.

i have to check if there are any shop around here that sells unfinished armoires. hopefully there is. i really want one of those. if i dont get one ill probably use my little refrigerator that ive used for growing as well. it just needs some little adjustments as far as the rear of the wall needs to be cut out and ill probably use poly panels since they are way easier to use and put up. most likely ill will use it since i dont think ill find one for dirt cheap anytime soon. anyhow i think today ill start my next grow, itll be grandaddy purp and ak48 (fem nirvanas seeds) ill have to start the seeds today so itll have about a month and a week to grow until harvest time. here are my shots from last night when i was adding water to them.............................. i added a couple of pics of my little helper even though he likes to chew the leaves (pain in the ass sometimes) he still likes to sit and watch me........

thanks man. tomorrow (friday) will be week number 4, half way there....... cant wait. shes already smelling very strong but with hints of blueberry, i love coming home from work and having that smell rush my nose as soon as i walk in......

Looking good, looking good. Mine aren't quite as healthy yet, but as trial runs go i cant be real upset. They should be squared away and back to normal within the next couple days. Thats a nice dog what kind is he/she? i have a yr old lab/dane mix that just likes to get in the way when its plant time haha

thanks jet li for the nice compliment. as far as the dog its a lab but i dont know what else is it mixed with. hes a playful little fucker and a dirty one too. i have to keep him in the kitchen since my place is carpeted all the way except the kitchen.

btw whats wrong with your little ones.? did you overfeed them or what? from my past experiences mj is a hard little plant to kill. it takes alot of shit to really kill it all the way. so whenever i have thats in bad shape i never discard it, they alaways come around specially if you treat them with kind words....... over the weekend i lst really good and took a few pics, im waiting for everything to be even so ill snap a few pics and load them.
