Dutch Passion Master Kush grow

Hey Fogey, props on the harvest man. Looks like you had a good pull and some good ideas to already improve the next run.

HID lighting is definitely still the way to go. My advice would be to pick an adjustable wattage ballast. There is little demand for 250w ballasts so they are near in price to a 400w
dimmable ballast. That way you could give the 400w a try and see if it will work regarding your space and heat and what not. If it doesn't work you can pop in a
250w bulb and go that route instead.

extreme sad face. my harvest is coming in at about 132 grams. i have not talked with the smokestacks(my sons) yet to see how much sampling they have done but 4.6 ounces is not what i thought i'd get. i most definitely fucked up harvesting so soon. if i was mr. potatohead i would most certainly have to put on my angry eyes...

so lessons learned from this grow:

don't chicken out and harvest early

listen to all the advice of people saying 'you have another 1-2 weeks'

the sky is not falling chicken little

get some better lighting

patience is a virtue

i have not even sampled the bud so i have that to look forward to but i would have preferred some 'fat, hairy chicks'. keep the skinny ones with sparkles and the clean shave in the swimsuit edition of sports illustrated...

i rolled a small bud into a rolling paper, took a couple of drags off of it and am quite happy with the taste and buzz. so the bag appeal, taste/smell and buzz are pretty nice. no grand slam for my though this time...

gave my wife a brownie made from the cannabutter i made from my master kush. oops! too strong. she needed to just go to bed. i think a quarter of one would be enough for her if she tries them again...

i used fan leaves, sugar leaves and stems. it may not be on par with other folks cannabutter but it works for our household. a very mellow 6-8 hour stone...

my oldest son smoked a joint by himself yesterday. he said he got about half way through and there was so much resin, the joint was sticking to his fingers and his lips were sticking together. lol!

master kush has quite a wallop. a very heavy stone/couch lock. i still prefer the light sativa buzz personally. looking forward to my thai harvest in (ah wtf) prolly the end of may...

all the harvest is in the cure zone according to the author of 'the perfect cure'. i have split it up into small mason jars with about a half oz in each all vacuum sealed up. my sons have their stash in a bigger jar and have the half oz in reserve. they will go through their a lot quicker than i will so i am sure mine will become theirs eventually too. i can't smoke enough to go through a z and a half even in a half a year so i hope the vacuum seal keeps it nice. the rh was 59% going in so in a few months when i crack one open i am hoping for some nice mellow smoke. this grow is done. dutch passion master kush is what you want if you like a really heavy stone. i think it is a bit too heavy for me. it isn't the kind of 'run about town and take care of errands buzz' i like for day time. it is 'nice and trippy, play my guitar or keyboard, until i sleep like a baby at night' buzz. the edibles from it are pretty heavy duty too. i don't think i will grow it again but i am happy to have had the experience with it...

Glad everything turned out good for ya!!!

Try some of the boveda packs if youre possibly worried about over drying during the long cure.

i have a mason jar vacuum sealed with 1 62% boveda packet that has been in the closet since late feb. i am popping the seal in a couple weeks as the smokestacks need more smoke but i am going to re-seal my third of the jar into a smaller jar and hope to check the smoke at about a year and then beyond. i will update if i think of it...
