Drying with a dehumidifier?

I was wondering if this would work. I plan on sealing a room with black poly plastic sheeting and running a fan not directly blowing at the plant and running a dehumidifier inside the room. I'm sure somebody else has done this but I would like to know if this would work?

Don't do it. I have seen it done. It fries the plant. My buddy stuck his bud in a food dehumidifier only for an hour and it wasn't even dry, but most of the thc had evaporated. It was crap and barely got u high. As for a regular humidifier, it would work, but the slower the dry the better. It won't take much longer to just cut the plant and hang upside down for 24 hours. Hang in a paper bag for a few days after that and its smokeable. I wouldn't dehumidify and ruin all my months of waiting and hard work just to save a day or two. Be a little more patient and ur virtues will be evident in the quality of smoke/high.

the only reason i would do this is to just keep the humidity down to a certain level. My dehumidifier would only be running on very low to just keep the humidity down below 50.

i think he is talking about a dehumidifier and you are thinking food dehydrator. i use a small dehumidifier in my drying closet to keep the humidity at about 20%. seems to keep the mold away

That is what I am going for. I just want to keep humidity down to eliminate risks of mold.

Yeah, I do that. I keep mine set at 50%. Works out fine for me. I live in a humid area, so I'd worry about mold without it.
