Drying huge colas

In my aero grows I run the misters 24/7 non stop never an issue. Well except once in awhile I had root clog my drains and get an over flow but fixed that with a float switch just in case lol

Are you kidding me , you & Al were the 2 best hydro guys back then & the only 1's willing to take the time.
Word Panhead! I learned a TON reading Al's journal and FF's. I remember Gypsy Bush emulated Al almost to the T. These two guys really helped put some info out on this board. I wonder if Al is ok, Think he works for a mag now. Glad your still around FF. :-)

The slower dry time lets more chlorophyll evaporate from the buds making the taste and burn ohhh so much better after a nice 60 day cure compared to rush dry and short cure
My rush dry is rushed;)(3-4 days, broken down on mesh rack)) but my cure is 2 weeks at least. Aroma starts in at around day 3-5 in jar and gets popped for 2 weeks its pretty pungent by then. When the buds feel ideal in moisture content I throw those brovedas in. js. thats how I does it:) I feel like if i left it all on the plant, I would be worried and constantly checking for mold. I aint got time for that lol. Ever had a plant mold like that?

yes sir that is a rush. I set my RH at 61% trimmed plant hanging thats about 7-10 days then I will take off branches final manicure and if still moist on screens with RH down around 50% for 2-3 days then the cure starts. No less then 30 days if I am in a hurry curing but if you can do 60 or 90 days its well worth it in the taste and smell and clean burning smoke. For me time is made. I do work about 80 hours a week still and probably another 25 to 30 gardening.. Trimming is my least fav. I had trim alone and if you do 18-40 plants in a finish it takes a good week some times lol

If the environment is good you wont get mold even in the biggest nugs man. I wet trim but leave them on stems to dry on a mesh rack. They dry for 6-7 days and I clip of stems and trim into jars. Add bovida. They smell great right away when dried proper. Slowing the dry time down is the best thing you could do IMO.

Yeah Im slowing down. I found out Im pretty sick in December they not sure if I can be fixed or not so been seeing all kinda specialists see if can keep on going or if its just a count down. Id rather hang around I havent even seen 40 yet lol.. My fiancee keeps me hoping to as a kidney transplant patient on the donor list for the 3rd time. Lotta stuff for home Dialysis. I cut my hours back few years back when I was doing full time construction.. I miss the checks but not 14 hour days 7 days a week. lol.. Ill probably have to slow it down soon though since me being sick now is taxing my body I just cant push anymore as is.

Sorry to hear it FF. I just turned 40 in Oct. Im not sure if cannabis oil works to cure people or not. Its worth a try in tandem with other treatments? I take a lot of it orally and it does alleviate most my pain and make me way more functional. The worst is that it could make you really high.. LOL Stay as positive as you can. That kind of energy will take you farther into healing that a negative outlook. I wish you well. Hope your able to overcome.

Even if they give you bad news. Dont let it ruffle you. keep going. MANY people have lived far beyond the several months left to live talk.

Sorry to hear about your plants man. Lol on the slicing the buds. I'll take extra precautions in memory of your fallen ladies.
Once I saw the fur of mold, I freaked. I got tweezers and magnifying glasses and tried to remove it all. I finished cleaning two ounces and went back with a black light to see my handy work- G.D. it! it had all grown back! I tried to bake the mold out. I tried to make hash of it. And it all still smelled like stale gym socks. I even tried to smoke it while I waited for my seeds to come in the mail. I was even tempted to buy some. But I stuck it out. And now I'm all mellow with my four ounce grow of sweet, sweet bud-ly.

And I still have 4 ounces of pot that will get you high, but it has all the charm of smoking a homeless person's jockstrap.

IM scratching my head like, how this could be the best thing possible when I have a great product end result. Thanks for all the great info and your time guys.
I think I may be one of few chics that frequent the help sections, so calling me sir, bro , man, dude makes me wanna scratch my nuts lmao. jk @FilthyFletch no worries bro, js:P

Sorry for the gender mess up. It happens on this kind of forum though. You can get great results your way for sure. You are just spending more time drying in the jar than drying in the open. Ive done it your way. I have come to my current methods because it creates awesome smoke faster and with less work than burping any jars. I do not burp once dry and has a bovida in it. Im done at that point except when I snatch nugs or the rare occasions when I will take a donation for some... LOL

Yeah sometimes its hard to tell by a forum name if its male or female and more times it usually is a guy. They could add a little avatar tag to show woman or man but then again if you dont want 100 guys asking for your picture you might not wanna do that either. I say the more female growers on the forum the better it gets.If it gets too be too much go ahead and air scratch em anyways lol

It was nice having Al's help but he wasn't the only one Filhyfletch is an excellent hydro grower as well .

Al was only hitting 1.5 g's because he had serious humidity issues where he lost good chunks of each harvest from blight , if he had dryer conditions he'd of been well over 2 g's .

When you tried my flood & drain/ areoponic style what were your watering times , ive had tons of hydro growers try n convince me watering for 15 minutes once an hour was too much & would cause root rott or over watering .
The main reason i water once an hour is root zone temps , the space between the panda plastic & table gets hot fast being no medium is in the table , when you water every hour with 60 to 65 degree rez water the root zone stays under 72 degrees at all times , above 72 you get slimey roots .

Did you water every hour round the clock ? Or did you use a different schedule ?

One of these days im gonna take the time to write up a start to finish picture tutorial showing my flood/aero hybrid system built from scratch , doing flood & drain with no medium makes turn around time instant from no clean up .
No doubt. I followed what you guys and ABF and some others(someguy15 helped me out a ton, but he no longer visits forums) had to say when I first started. Read thru potroasts hydro sticky as well. So to see you two broing out in my thread is great! You guys dont use Als 4 day drying box?

When I tried your style(which I didn't know until recently you do it that way) I was a complete noob, I did F&D from 10/11 until like 11/11, I was underferting back then as I followed that plants dont need nutes until 3 sets of leaves BS, I switched to DWC soon after I started hydro.

I think I was doing every 4 hours just enough until it hit the overflow as this was what i read on Al B Faqt and no only during lights on, last water was an hour before lights off. Was using lava rock at the time so it held onto moisture more than 'ton.

How do you support your plants with no medium? I do low pressure aero for my clones and now started doing it for seedlings too with neoprene collars. Ditching rockwool was the best move I ever made. I couldn't get good with the stuff. Did Al's weighing of the cube, start at 5g and add water until 25g. Was tedious work, but I figured it worked for him why not me.

Im looking to ditch the bubble buckets and finally use that table I bought 3 years ago, i'd be interested in that tutorial. Though im sure I can make F&D work now.
