Drying and Curing

I've been doing some reading and have a few more questions. After hanging it to dry, I've read that some put it in paper bags before putting the buds in a mason jar. Do you have to put them in paper bags or can you just go from drying to putting them in mason jars and burping every day?

It's all preference,I saw your other post about drying. Trimming or not trimming is preference, I perfer to trim before I hang and sometimes I get lazy and let some buds dry untrimmed I don't see a difference in smoke but it doesn't hurt to keep them on, as far as curing goes wait atleast 5-7 days before you begin jaring anything, your buds will moisten up a bit whike curing. I hang all my buds, no paper bags sometimes with smaller buds I use a cardboard beer tray it helps draw out moisture. Check your buds daily 5-7 days is a rough estimate on drying sometimes it takes more or less. Your stems will bend and almost or will snap when there ready. Open your jars daily and keep it darkness at all times once dry

happy smoking :)

I dry at 45-55% Humidity, 65-75 degrees F - until the outer leaves are dry and the stem no longer bends. Then I cure it, being careful to burp a lot, or, if I know I'm going to forget; I give the bud an extended "open-jar" sessions; to the point where, even if I forget to burp for 3 days, no mold will grow.

Boveda packs work awesome once you jar them. They do keep the buds a little more moist than I like, but I take out a bit and it dries right up and have never had a mold issue.
