Dry ic for CO2

I was wondering if i were to place a bucket of dry ice in a grow room would the dry ice be giving off co2 gas that the plants can use? as well as cooling down the room to, i cant remember where i read that i ju:bigjoint:st want to confirm. maybe i didnt hear it at allbongsmilie:eyesmoke:

And you would need Alot to keep a constant suppy to your plants.....and i dont think there would be a way to regulate ither

I'd imagine you could measure an ammount see how any ppm it gives and +/- whatever you need.

As for the temp ofcourse it would be used in addition to a fan because it does give offf a vapour. Im not the expert though, so i would like an experts opinion :blsmoke:

If you see fog you're CO2 poisoning thats fo sure.. That one problem with dry ice, another is storage since its only cost effective to buy in large quantities.. Oh, and if you try too hard to store it well you're going to create a dangerously explosive situation..

I thought about this once and I did the math and all on the subliming rates vs how much it put out and how much I would need a month and it was less expensive to roll with a cheap tank and reg set up

lol it take alot of co2 to make dry ice. with that carbon bill getting passed I bet co2 prices are going to jump.

CO2 is a waste product, and it takes as much CO2 to make a block of dry ice as the block weighs.. Its expensive to store though..

bout 40% of the co2 used to make it is lost. liquid co2 becomes dryice when the psi drops below 68.

would you mind sharing how much the dry ice cost was? and how much it put out compared to the regular set up?

Also someone said i would need alot to cool off the room, but in a 5x5x6.6ft how much would i possibly need? im not trying to make it a freezer just cool it down a few degrees in addition to a fan.

I don't know much about using in a grow room. But I do know dry ice gasses off in a freezer and if you put it in a warm room it will be gone fast.Dry ice is also not good for coolling a room. I think I saw 3.50 a lb the other day. cheeper in bulk.
