Dry box design, please assist

I have a small grow box (2x2.5x5') with a carbon activated forced exhaust system that has two plants in it with different timings. It appears that one of them will be ready a full 2-3 weeks before the other. This creates a problem because I have to be able to dry one, preferably in the dark, while the other is finishing in the same box (for the smell).

I can't think of a dry box that has good, even, airflow, but is light-sealed. For example, I could hang buds in a cardboard box, but getting proper airflow through the entire box would be difficult without huge holes on either side (hence light leak). This would probably work, but I'd be risking some pockets of dead air creating mold.

Dimensions: 16"x16" and a height of about 24".
Budget: $100+, but I doubt it being over $20-30.

tl;dr: I need a dry plan that involves using 16x16x24" of space. Please help me out, I can't come up with a better option than a cardboard box with a couple of holes and a fan (with the aforementioned pockets of dead air).
