So after my first grow (https://www.rollitup.org/t/automatic-ak-first-grow-indoor.889680) running 4 autos I soon ran out of space in my tent. This time I've decided to just run the one photoperiod, give it all my attention and use the space as well as possible. Had a few problems last time and think I'll have problems with temps again but this time I'm expecting it so I've already got plans in place to get them under control if needed.

First few weeks I'll probably update fairly regular, then once she begins to flower it'll probably be weekly updates. Feel free to ask questions or comment and constructive criticism is always welcome.

Strictly growing for personal use.​

28th March (Germination) - After having a 4/4 success rate on my first attempt using the wet paper towel method I've decided to use It again. Got a new wash cloth, soaked it in warm water, placed the seed inside, folded the cloth over and gently pressed it flat. Then I carefully slid it inside a sealy bag and blew air into it, sealed it and placed it on top of my Xbox as that's on most of the day to stream sky through so will keep it warm.

I also mixed up my soil and perlite and gave it a good water in preparation for the seed to go in when she's ready, may need another water depending on how long it takes to sprout.

I'll have front row centre seat mate. That Dr. Underground mix you got does sound sweet. I forgt you're using EXACTLY the same equipment as me. Very interested to see how you do! Good luck with your first photo grow!

Yeah it looks a good mix, got some nice freebies too. I think I'll run the Melon Gum next. I'm thinking way to far ahead tho lol

30th March (Germination) - Checked her after 18 hours and nice little white shoot coming out. Placed it back in the cloth and bag and put it back on top of the Xbox. Won't open it again until I plant it tomorrow evening.

It's actually a 6/6 record for me so far germinating this way, I had started another auto (This Painkiller is a photo btw) in the last grow but it died while I was unexpectedly away for a few weeks. The reason I chose this method is it's easy to check how it's doing without having to dig around the soil and disturb it to much.

31st March (Planting) - I was expecting to plant her tonight but I checked this morning and she's defiantly ready to go in. Tripled in legnth since last night.

Pulled my pot out the tent and gave it another water, it seems to be drying out very quickly and not holding much water at all, probably because of the added perlite. Ill probably lower the ratio when I pot up. Anyway I used the end of a pen to poke a hole a couple cm deep for the seed to fit in.

Popped her in, root side down using tweezers and gently scraped some soil back over the top.

Back into the tent, no lights on just exhaust fan running to keep the air exchanging.

Was hoping to run 18:00-12:00 as Itl be hottest here in the afternoon so best for lights off at that time, but depending on when she pushes through I might have to slowly adjust the time each day to get onto my schedule.

1st April (Seedling) -Beginning to push through, lights are on but they're right at the top of the tent for now to avoid to much stress or burning. When I see those cotyledons ill lower it.

Really drying out quickly so just misted around the top of the pot avoiding any water going onto the seedling.

1st April (Seedling) - Soil is drying out far to quick and humidity is really low so I've placed some clingfilm over the top and used a bracket to raise it to allow room for growth.

2nd April(Seedling) - Can see the seed casing ready to fall off. Soon as it does and she opens up ill gradually lower the lights. Running 18.00 to 12.00 (18/6).

Ozone PH Test Meter with calibration buffer. My tap water that's stood tested at 6.7ph.

3rd April (Seedling) - Seed casing fell off and she opened up.

Gave 300ml of water. PH going in at 6.7 and runoff tested at 7.0. Maybe need slight adjustment to bring it down when the PH down arrives.

Lowered lights. They're at 26 inch. Will keep lowering an inch each day. She's not stretching to much yet.

leaving clingfilm over for a few more days.

5 th April (Seedling) - She's looking healthy. Standing straight. Not much veg growth but hopefully it's all going on with root growth. Still under cling film. Might remove cling film tomorrow, let it dry and get some fresh air circulating then water and cover again

Lowered light 1 inch yesterday and 1 inch today so it's at 24 inch.

Temp at 28c.

PH up and down came.

Just waiting on CalMag now. Will be ordering a 6 or 8 inch extractor fan in a few weeks before flowering

8th April (Seedling) - 300ml of water. PH in 6.9, Runoff 6.6. Need to order a syringe to use the PH up and down lol. Very tricky pouring.

Clingfilm now off.

Second set of leaves coming through.

16th April (Veg) - Watered today 1L with 0.5ml CalMag. PH in 6.6 PH out 6.6.

Ordered some pippets as the PH up and down is very difficult to control by pouring.

Light at 21".

Picture update tomorrow.

1st May (Veg) - Been busy with work so not had chance to update.

She's been showing signs of deficiency on the lower leaves slightly. Upping nutrients slowly though. Been watering with nutrients every other day. 1L with 5ml of Grow PH in 6.5 and out at 6.5. Getting a lot of run off. Probably because of the perlite.

Temps are still high gunna order a bigger extractor on Friday.

2nd June (Veg) - Been busy with work so had no updates. She's still going strong though.

Watering EOD with 2L of water, 15ML of grow and 2ml CalMag. Showing slight nitrogen defiancy, lower leaves yellowing. Feeding with every water, PH going in at 6.4/6.5 so not sure why it's getting the defiancy. Was thinking it could of been the heat. Drainage is so much better with e perlite.

Topping worked nicely. Also LST going well. She responds well to it and turns back towards the light within a few hours of being tied down.

Had to drop tent and move for a few hours due to property inspection. Should be good now though for the rest of the grow.

Progress has been slow, I'm thinking because of the heat, gunna give her a few weeks at good temps then flip to 12/12.
