Dr. GreenThumb's "Bubba OG"......

First off, I'll say I'm an old "HATER" of Doc' and I've had it out with him for years now after a terrible "Endless Sky" grow. I made it my mission there for a while to spread the word while I battled his team of internet shills......many of you are already aware of this. But I was helping out a friend and sought out Dr. Gruber for his advice on picking a strain for my buddy. I have great respect for Gruber for his growing skills, and his interpersonal skills in dealing with others. Thanks again Dr. Gruber if you pass by and see these........

So, my buddy spent the $400 and bought 2 packs from GreenThumb, 1 pack had 10 seeds, the other had 11. Only 9 sprouted and one of them never popped thru the soil. So he ended up with 8 seeds, basically costing him $50 a seed. He wasn't happy.......but then he ran into a family issue and had to move the plants so I ended up taking them from him to finish them off. Be aware though, Doc has recently raised his price on these to $200 for 5 feminized seeds.......

I pinched them once at day 22 and went 29 days in veg. Today I am at day 48 in flowering. As the pic's below show, they are already well encrusted with resin and the hairs on some plants are just starting to brown. My plan is to take them to 65 days no matter what. I am looking for a future mother to clone the shit out of for years to come.

The bottom line: I've been growing on a large scale since 1988. Although it's not the strongest smoke I've ever seen, it is the best I've seen in the last 20 years. Even though the buds I cut are two weeks early, it's already wonderfully potent and has a long lasting buzz. Great taste, and nicely dense nugs. I can't imagine what these will even be like in another 2 weeks!!!!!!!!

So, mucho respect goes out to GreenThumb for a job well done. Seed buyers------ spend the money, buy the genetics and own these for your smoking pleasure- you'll thank me later on. It's my first 9.5/10 on the potency scale in many, many years.

Mine will be here any day! I can not wait! Have you ever tried endless sky again? Maybe you had a bunk run ? Now that you have had this luck are you going to be trying to do any of his other strains!

(I can't wait for his GSC to be released)

btw much respect for coming out and saying you bashed him! Takes a real man to eat a lil crow!

nice to hear of a skeptic backing way expensive beans. i am willing to put down for pricey genetics but there are just too many breeders and i dont know who the fuck is worth the tag.

I am also doing Reserva Privada OG #18 and OG Kush at the same time and neither is anywhere as nice IMO..........

Commercially I plan on concentrating on this strain. I'll pick the best plant and turn her into a long term mother.

For personal smoke, yes I surely would do something else from GreenThumb. Just review some of Dr. Gruber/HeartlandHank grows.......they have done some marvelous grows of his stuff.

Endless Sky.....Dr. Greenthumb did admit to a mod on here that he lost the original parent mother of the Endless Sky. I've read many great reviews on the strain from years ago- that's why I bought it in the first place. The seeds from my batch turned into hay. He's since come out with a non-feminized version again- if you were to grow it, that's what I would go with. But some of his other offerings are top notch and well worth the $$$$$$$.

Thank you very kindly Sir.
Nice report on my personal favorite strain. I have to say I'm in total agreement with you on this one.

SMELL: First off, I'm nasally challenged......I have bad allergies year round and have lost most of my sense of smell from med's I take. In the room with these plants, are OG #18, OG Kush, Cheese, and Blueberry Gum. The room stinks and getting worse day by day. I have an over-size carbon filter in the room and it's losing the battle. When I give my final smoke report, I'll detail the smells and taste of this specific strain better.

i just spent my whole weekend trimming lol. amazing how you block out the smell after an hour or so. then if ya leave and come back in, bammm hits me like a brick wall

the frost on them looks real nice, hopefully you get a bulkup on the homestretch :)

On above pic,the tall plant in back left is R.P. OG #18. 2 tall plants on back right is R.P. OG. Plants off to front right are G13 Labs Blueberry Gum. There is also a Cheese plant between the back plants but it's a dwarf.

Here's 3 Bubba OG closeups- all different buds off different plants. Day 51 flowering, makes my dick hard just thinking about it. LOL

Just an FYI....
I had one of mine tested at 56 and 66 days. The 56 had a higher THC content then the 66. Tasted better and looked better at 66 though.

Hum........so what exactly are you saying Dr. Gruber? I guess more importantly: did you smoke them both at 56 and 66 days? I've found, as I'm sure you know, THC content isn't everything. I messed up earlier, I'm at day 52 flowering today, not 51. It's already killer strong, I'm not sure it really needs too much more time. The plants closer to the light have bigger colas and are taking longer to finish but the pic's I took today of the further away cola's tell me I'm not far off on them at all.... any advice would be welcomed.

I didn't want to post up the numbers until SSHZ was finished and judged them for himself but if he requests it I will post it.

I completely agree that THC numbers aren't everything and this strain proves it. Im still trying to figure out what it means as I have now tested 3 strains at different dates and its always the early sample that comes out higher. I haven't really been able to tell much difference between them but the later samples usually taste better.
I did notice the trichs on the late samples look damaged and or missing and i wasn't mishandling them. I will be continuing to test this way until I have something figured out....

Some of the best smoke I ever had (in effect) only tested out at 11% so thc levels are not something I really care about or pay much attention to. Breeders and re-sellers care because higher thc numbers means more sales. Just look at this bud I'm about to smoke and then tell me you care WHATEVER the number turns out to be. Dr. Gruber, feel free to post the number or message me, if you'd like. Or wait til I'm all done- it's all good (actually, it's all great)!
