Dr. greenthumb seed review!

Why do you get so defensive when people critique Dr Greenthumbs gear? Do you own stock in the company?
.
To be fair I don't think he was being defensive but the guy did call him a liar, a fanboy and a shitty speller. That would probably get the best of us a little angry but I thought OMS was very civil considering what was coming at him.

Don't he have something called Em-Dog or Em-Dawg ?
Em Dog is a Humboldt seed org strain. Their Dr Greenthumb guy is B-Real from cypress hill, who was paid to endorse em dog. It's all a scam. Hso are hacks from Spain (and are affiliated with dinafem), not Humboldt County, California. My buddy went against my warnings and ran their blue dream and og kush. Blue dream was just another blueberry cross and og kush was terrible. All phenos of og sucked and was nothing like og. Very white widow-ish. Not og kush by any means.

Yes, he kept his cool with the personal insults....but is still very defensive when it comes to Greenthumb and his gear. If this was an isolated example I would never have said anything. It's not though. It's every single Dr Greenthumb thread. Someone chimes in with a negative review and the bat signal goes up for Old Mother Sativa to come racing to the defense of Dr G.

to answer your question…

i guess because i have long term HANDS ON experience growing his gear

and my guess is that most of the ones that criticize..have never grown any themselves

which really makes them unknowledgeable and possibly just trolls….

green ghost

8 seeds should have had some kind of cbd…"

yes i agree..though nothing is perfectly predictable in genetics land

however there were only two seed plants tested

this cbd passing it on thing does not seem to be cut in stone

its so easy to criticize..

even the punnet square is falible

also i will add that except for nevil s , a couple other older seed banks and few auctions..drgt has been my go to
so i feel i have the credentials…

and yes i have seen dr grubes grows on some sites
i did help him to get his growing nailed down a bit years ago
and i genuinely like him and the way he doesn't talk cool tough guy negative "shit"
like so many of the arm chair experts who have never grown any of his seeds

this should suffice wha?

[nah doubt it]

but no more from me on this one

You are entitled to your opinion..... but so are others. If someone spent $150+ on a pack of seeds and aren't happy with the results, then who are you or anyone else to tell them that they're wrong? I don't see this kind of defensive, knee-jerk responses for any other breeders other than Dr Greenthumb and TGA. God forbid someone doesn't like a pack of seeds that they bought from either of those companies.

After looking through Dr. Gruber's grows, which IMHO are some of the best on this board, I thought about trying some of Dr. G's gear. When I looked at his site I was a little taken aback with the prices, but thought I'd bite the bullet and give him a go. I didn't see any mention of guaranteed delivery, so I sent him an email and asked. I received the following in response:

We haven't had a single seizure since 1996 but if you want an absolute guarantee then select Express shipping for $35.

My first thought was his claim of no seizures was bullshit. My second was nobody's gear is worth $47 per bean.

Just my two cents.

Yeah, I tend to agree with you travis. I may eventually give his gear a go, but with so many other breeders out there that are half the price (or less) of his stuff I'm in no hurry. Plus he's kind of a cranky guy to deal with. He was a member of a Michigan forum for a while and definitely didn't do himself any favors with his turdy disposition.

he does have a tenancy to shoot his self in the foot. he is fine as long as you realize he is always right no matter what.

wow! 47 bux a seed? whats this world coming to. I thought 150 for 10 c99 back in the day from heavens stairway was way pricey. Why is this guys genetics worth 4 x more than anyone elses who ask 10-12 bux per fem bean? I must be missing something.
