Dr greenthumb hangs up on me

Is this standard customer service? I call to place a phone order and I give him all my info including cc info and shipping. He asks for physical address associated with cc and I have to think for a minute because I've moved around a lot, he interrupts and says forget it and hangs up on me...

This guy happens to be "ONE BIG ASSHOLE"..........check around, there are many negative reports about his customer service. Can you imagine what he does if you call to complain that his beans 1) didn't sprout, 2) grew into shit (Endless Sky), 3) his prices ($200 for 3 seeds), 4) seeds didn't arrive or a host of other issues that are regularly reported about his stuff.

Actually, my question is "why deal with him in the 1st place"?

I know Doc can be gruff sometimes when people waste his time with bullshit. On the other hand, I know people who he has spent hours helping and I know their customer service is excellent if you have an actual problem. Your assertion that there "are a host of other problems regularly reported" is all in your head mate

Dr. Greenthumb can be abrupt, but his gear is A-OK. He does stand behind his products. I'm a fan of his Iranian Indica and G-13 Chemdawg. Well worth the price when considering the ROI.

guys CHILL OUT. some people are going to have bad experiences and thats what customer service is about business is a lot of word of mouth, for every 1 BAD experience someone will tell 10 people and for every 1 good experience someone will tell one

You guys are allowed to share your expierences so OP can make up their mind, but dont get so up tight and defensive about it like the seedbank is your fricken 90 year old grandma who cant defend herself. Enough with the damn name calling.

Wow! This is new for RIU, a mod who actually has a brain,knows how to use it and doesn't have an axe to grind. RADICAL!. Mods are the lifeblood of any forum and this forum has needed real mods for...ever. Maybe there is hope for RIU to be a respected, knowledge based site after all. Wow!


I've been dealing with Doc for years. Treat him with a wee bit of respect and you'll get it back one hundred fold. If you have questions he will help you and talk to you for as long as it takes. Be an asshole, he'll hang up on you or tell you to fuck off and if he knows who you are won't ever sell you seeds again. He doesn't need your money and he doesn't give a shit if you ever buy a seed from him. They used to call him the "Seed Nazi." That puts some people off but personally I like his truthfulness and no bollocks attitude.

Greenthumb is probably hanging up and charging super high prices because he can't get much business. Lots of people still remember all the fake strains he sold, (and still does) Niagara, Niagara VE (very early) Huron, an assortment of exotic sativas that weren't real either... Karma is a bitch, deal with Greenthumb if you have to, but remember what I said...

Fakes! hahahaha...what edjit you are. Niagara is, was and always will be one of the best srains I ever grew and I wish he'd bring it back. Niagara Shiva...my friends still ask for it. Try greenthumb's OG, Bubba, Bubba OG, Sour Diesel, Trainwreck The Dope and on and on and on; they are best of their kind. Any strains I've gotten from Doc have been brilliant and my only regret is I can't keep mothers of all of them. I bought seeds from everywhere else over the years and half the time got fucked. Doc has never sent me a shit strain or seeds in over 10 years of dealing with them.

I talked to Doc on the phone. Kinda sounded like I was buggin him as he was just getting in his car and had to get his bluetooth set up. Took my order. Was real helpful. Wouldnt hesitate to call him again. I have a business. When people call me to give me money I hang up...its how I stay in business...NOT! It would be nice to hear the other side of the story. Something tells me OP isnt telling it all.

The doc answered my e-mail right away, he seems like an eccentric character. Who isn't in this biz. He does get offended easily (see his forums), but hey, how many times does he have to answer stupid questions?? When you're in a particular business, you tend to be able to weed out the tire-kickers rather quickly. How any times do you get the' your bean are too expense for S1s' before you tell people to f-off? Buy it, try it, or don't. He may be a douche but it doesn't matter if the shit is good. I imagine some here would bitch even if the doc came and grew it for them.

i have had nothing but positive expiriences with doc. in fact he is the only seed seller that i have yet to have any complaints from and i have been putting orders for seeds since Emery was the only one willing to send to the US, long before overgrow was a site.
he has spent more than a little time on the phone with me (no dutch company will talk to you if you tell them your from the US, I HAVE TRIED with most) and he has sent many freebies along with his high priced beans.
high priced but i'll take them anytime.
in fact he is the only breeder that has ever given me the time of day on the phone just to explain the quirks of certain strains and even feeding help. yea any corespondence with any other company in the past has been e-mail and very short, maybe polite but short.
and i have grown and loved some of the above mentioned fake strains. they worked well. in fact i have very few complaints about dr.greenthumb besides his prices. also he doesn't sell through a third party and you can contact him, not many others willing to talk to you. would the snobs from greenhouse or barneys give you the time of day?

i have spoken to doc many, many times over the years. he knows his stuff like no one else and offers advice based on years and years of exerience. he shares his knowledge freely and to be honest i've learned more about growing from him that can be found in any book or forum. add to that i've never gotten a less than superb strain from him and never had a hermie flower on any of his femmed seeds. he can be short sometimes but all i care about is results

I placed an order the day before or after christmas and he spoke to me for quite awhile. I found him very helpful and professional.
I have never had any problems with any Dr Greenthumb orders either. I've had 4 orders in the last month and three went through
Chicago customs without any problems. I expect my order of Cheese any day.
