Are you aware Christianity has been around nearly 6-7 centuries longer than Islam?

Are you aware the crusades took place nearly 10 centuries ago?

That's a 400 year window for Christianity to pacify and for civilization to take root and establish the rule of law and the separation of church and state.

You are looking at Islam today as you would be looking at Christianity in 300-400AD, when people were still stoned to death for sinning (and up until the 1700's in North America).

So how is it fair to hold Islam to a separate set of standards than Christianity?

Check back in 400 years and see if Islam, if it still exists, is as violent then as it is now..

Christianity wouldn't exist if we stoned people for blasphemy, witchcraft, adultery, etc. today. The only reason it exists is because pacifists through the ages realized society becomes more civil as time progresses, if their religions don't, they will become extinct. Same reason the catholic church accepts evolution, same reason we don't keep slaves (even though the Bible permits and even endorses it).
