seems the 1/2 gallon water was to much moving the plants from the tent (300w) to the room (600w) the bottoms of the planter were wet (so my root system is shallow ) ....trying to correct this no water in 3 days now (since the last watering)

the room has a dehumidifier and AC so it should allow the outside to dry ......hoping the roots react like normal and go deeper for water

over all happy with it the stalks are nice the size of the plants are covering the whole planter .......if fallows the strain should be 10 more days of this maybe 15 then stretch for flowering

side note i have 1 plant about ready to cut and a 2nd one resining up so these plants might get exposed to some UV light sooner then planned

do you only grow autos? i dont mean to hijack the thread, but you seem pretty knowledgable from what i read on your posts.. i havent grown in sometime due to moving down south where heat is just unbareable but im moving back up north, where i can manage my grow room so much better but im looking into advice... for one, ive never grown autos... ive only grown bagseeds.. i do got tangering dream seeds i ordered but being a noob i didnt research the strain and i heard its a shit plant.. i understand you may not have experience doing photoperiod plants BUT is it easier for me to just grow good autoflowers? i smoke alot, and i never grow enough with photo plants to last enough for next grow.. and thats kinda a issue due wanting to cut the dealers out period... my current setup is..

- 600w hps/mh with hydrofarm phantom ballast and a shit cooltube..but going to upgrade to a blockbuster 6 reflector

- i WAS doing shitty lowes soil, but im getting some happy frog soil if its good... choosing happy frog due to complaints of ocean forest having low PH out of bag. i have plans on using happy frog with a chunky perlite mix

-i was using different kinds of nutrients since ive started, but my best grow was when i use fox farms trio nutes so most likely going to go back to them

-i use a 3x3 tent, but i managed to find a beam that was starting to break, so im going to purchase a secret jardin 3x3 tent

so since im basically and upgrading but want to try auto flowers out... are they worth it? i was thinking about running some photo plants with autos but again im a noob at autos and dont know how they work.. any info would be appreciated just want better faster yields cause i smoke alot and run out frequently... i wouldnt mind growing autos since theyre fast but i near they lack loads of yield and thc isnt as high in them either..but i just dont know if its worth it.. i know i mentioned alot of stuff that wasnt needed, sorry.. just trying to give as much information on my setup for the best desision on what to do.. again im rusty at growing since i quit for sometime

yah autos would be better for u .....the trick is to stagger plantings 2/3 plants every 14/21 days ......this way u are pulling in once a month(after that first 2 months go by) .......just keep a eye on the number for days some strains are 90 110 days other are 70 days

auto plants are just as strong as photos ....they are not the ones u might of known of in the 90s ........the taste str effect yield is equaled to photo plants.....best confirmed photo plant i ever seen was og night train 25.34% thc lab confirmed .........i only grow autos with 17% or higher thc .......a staple one for me is 21% with 1.4% cbds nacrotherapy

as for your tent get the 4x4 .......600w in good for a 4x4 and u will like the extra room if u fallow what i say bad news is a 4x4 tent the most u can do is 4 plants (in 5-7 gallons)

i avg 4-8 per plant could be better but i keep running experiments ....have not found that prefect combo yet to get thick hard nugs and frosty

well i was looking at the heavyweight fast and vast strain. and i figure the cooltube etc is reducing my yeilds period from what i know of. have you ever tried that? i havent been reading much into autos so high yielding strains would be fine. i do use 5 gallon pots. honestly, i dont got the room for a 4x4 thats why i use 3x3.. i figured id be able to at least to 4 in a 3x3. do i use hps bulb or mh bulb? i was going to use happy frog soil with fox farms trio nutriends. thanks for advice.

yah u better rethink the 4 plants in a 3x3 ...........i am lucky if i can get one plant into the a 3x3 tent and the buds are not scraping the walls ........the only way u could fit 4 of them is if u did 3 gallon soil bags with plants designed for like 120 grams maximum ...........to do a big plant like nacro u would have to only do 1 at a time or at most 2 with a SCRoG set up

sorry the other part is about your feed........i am tired and forgot to included in the reply back to u
the trio pack is only part of the fox farms system ......the reason u got good results with it is mostly chemical feed (only the big bloom is organic )

so if u are going to keep with that u should really invest in the full kit

wow never knew auto flowers actually got that huge... the issue is, i got family currently living with me and cant just have a tent in my bedroom. it has to fit in my closet.. the closet is 4 wide 5 long.. and has a window built in the closet i use for ac during summer, and in winter i use a inline fan to suck cold air in.. (with a screen over the outside part, and one over inside for bugs) i use a 10k btu ac it used to run all the time because i never had a temp controller, but i seen agromax digital cooling controller from ebay for 60.. so im going to buy 1 or 2 of them so that way the ac turns on and off at certain temps.. now my worry with that is not having enough space between the tent, and the ac.. i vent into the same closet as the tent is in.. my thinking is with a digital cooling controller, keep the temps at 70-78 or even 75-78 but no higher then 80... the issue with the tent and ac i was thinking the cold ac air hits the tent, and sucks it back in because it doesnt have enough room to dispose of the cool air due to hitting the side of tent... and then would cause it to freeze up which wouldnt be good.. in the winter it wouldnt be a problem.. i use one of them things from portable ac and hook a inline fan up with that with a cooling controller inside the tent. ill try to sketch a shitty figure of my closet so you can get an idea.. i dont mine getting 4x4 cause either way im getting a new tent, using my old one to dry in.. i want to use 5 gallon pots and ocean forest or happy frog soil.. another brand would work too but where i live its not legal and i dont want to be outside mixing soil because i dont grow a garden or anything and it would be kinda suspicious i think..i just want to make sure if i get a 4x4 im not going to have ac problems with freezing up.. if i could get a less btu ac to do the same as my current thats fine but i cant be venting outside.. ive tried and when im outside you can hear wind blowing.. im trying to keep my setup in the closet.. if i get rid of the tent and just grow in closet, then i gotta worry about a setup for closet doors i broke them and light shines through them too.. i m sorry for the book lol but thanks for helping me man...

when was your last bulb change ? the cheaper the bulb the shorter the life usually .... a long veg and a flower and its about time to swap them out anything past that the loss of kick starts to become noticeable

i do indeed get cheap bulbs... they were changed every grow cycle though.. this time im getting a hortliux bulb... with a blockbuster 6... just trying to figure out how mant plants in a 3x3... 5 gallon pots with happy frog soill i was going to use fox farms trio... but if something else is better then ill be down to try it.. gonna try all auto flowers this time and see what happens... thinking of trying 10 heavyweight fast and fast.. maybe not all 10 at once but...

ocean forest is better then happy frog in my mind .....(got alot of nice plants in FFOF fox farms ocean forest ).........if u can not get those organic gold is a good soil (that is normally in the stores)

auto plants are not like what u rem from back in the days .........i have made a plant grow a whole 4x4x6 tent and i do mean whole tent 1 plant

u can keep the 3x3x5 tent just need to modify what strains u are going to use .......and the number of plants .......if u get smaller plants u will be fine .......but the ones i grow like that is in this postings get big really big 2.5x2.5 ft footprint or bigger

update sunday pics day 30

stinky pot......lost stink .....it is prefloweiring and stretching

shorter.....bigger leaves seems to still be in growth

i removed some suckers branches from both clean up any lower bud sits i sawl .......hit it with open seame yesterday...happy with stalk size and water use has increased...super cropped all the branches except the top 4 small ones on each plant

note i tried this again with new strain green crack is right but the biodiesel mass is having sulfur issue (might rip it out and remix the back with some epsom salt )

note to system

tuesday .....i did a soil soaking ......pour enough water tho the plant so all the soil is soaked (like a flush but only a little leaks out bottom) ....this is to force the roots to grow out to the edges

wensday.....buddy asked for 2 gallons of shine only had 1 left so running more mash in the room (mash eats sugar and burps Co2) my levels are 1352ppm this will only last 4/5 days then it will be 21% ach by vol ready to cook down to 2 gallons at 140 proof

Easy auto soil recipe for the brainless. (I kid, this one takes some prep time) 1:1:1 by volume aerobic compost:Sandy loam

eat moss. I use a 5 gal pail as my measuring cup. Turn with a shovel. Add a half gallon of bokashi per 15gal of soil. Add 2-3 cups of home depot's premixed organic fertilizer. It's pretty good stuff. ~5-5-5 Npk and trace elements in it already.
The pic is of ghost peppers, 3 auto NL, and 1 photo fools gold (hurray promo). I doubt you'll be able to see the photo, she's in the back. Oh yea and great recipes I've been seeing. Also I don't cook this soil! If it cooks it'll get stronger in the available Nitrogen if I recall correctly. Foliar feeding during veg where I can.

my growth comes out fine no issues ever ( post pics tomorrow) ........it is the flowering that gets me i can stay on top of it for awhile then something goes off and redveins show up

this mix i made is strong in P to see if this fixes the issue for me (i still feed the plant) ....if the issues still happens i know it is K i need more of in the soil

i can get really crystalized stuff or i can get really thick stuff .........trying to combine those 2 now (even going back to older strains i mastered to tweak those) ....best so far is 6.3 grams of oil off 28 grams of weed i want to make it around 8 grams with thick buds .......at that point i can say i am good enough to work in a shop pass from being a novice to mid lvls of skills 2 years in a shop and i can call myself a master grower

sunday update and pics

stinky pot....narcotic kush ......only done this plant one other time the size of it getting there i was lucky i modified the set up for this i have the lights to maximum height ...at this point i know the roots are growing into the bottom of the bag .......to get this height the roots have to be deep and spread out (if u want the height say something i will measure bu does not matter to me so not checking unless asked)

this is pre flowering still on day 37 ....getting a gallon of water/feed every 3 days

this is the narcotherapy ......it is actually over due for flipping the grow on it is very nice i like the size of the stalk ....but based off the others of the strain it is doing great

Sunday pics and update

ok issue with stink pot i got red stem started about 3 days ago .........i know it potassium i can see N toxic ..and i know the P i well u see the math of that on post 3
....to counter i ordered some DeuceDeuce from Humboldt npk 0-0-22

the other one has flipped into flowering about 2 days ago ......no issue i can see plant looks perfect

So here's my experiment with super soil but its in the ground from when the compost is ready
Really it's just super turbo compost from heaven. Only... Ok. So IV fermented food scraps for 2+ wks in a 5 gallon pail. I'll bury this and wait another 2 wks for worms to eat it and the microbes I added to dismantle it further.
After I'll mix in some peat moss or something for sponge effect. Then I'll plant a few vegging autos in it and not do anything but water and spray microbes on them weekly with a 3 gallon sprayer. This covers my entire yard actually. The brick version is 3 pails buried and will be for 7 autos. The other two pics are a trench and cover method. This is for raised beds in gardens. I've never done this with autos but have with some photo NL with dense and large results. Autos are Humboldt blue dream, dedoverde haze, sour diesel, Bubba kush, and og kush. As well as blim burn orka (which is a photo. My bad) and cheese xxl auto by dinefem. I think.

did u add in calcium and other trace minerals they like .......becare with the open air method ...bugs will make home in that with all the food getting broken down (they are no biggie until resins form and they get stuck )

side note your area looks to have a high amount of sand or crushed rock
