Noticed you have lots of perlite in your pots. Is it for bug control on top like that? Or is that how much you mix in your pro mix? I have been doing 4 to 1 soil to perlite.
It looks like alot but about the same as you 80/20-75/25. Its just what floats to the top, I water pretty fast sometimes.
Since you brought up bug control heres what I do. Bugs or not I crush up 1/4-1/2 of a mosquito dunk and top dress each pot and scratch it in. The BTi takes care of bug issues before they become issues. I see a gnat every now and then but thats about it.
Like the old saying goes, 'an ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure'....

Yeah i've gotten some pretty buggy soil in the past. Good tip about the mosquito dunks. It won't hurt young plants?

Not a bit. And it wont harm the beneficials in the medium either....I have also noticed when using Fish Emulsion from the start really discourages bugs. I am not for sure but think its probably the oils in it they do not like. 1/4tsp of ivory dishsoap per gallon of water each feeding is a great deterrent to bugs also. Plus the ivory helps maintain peat based mixes ability to absorb water....

Yeah, my soil with pro mix pretty much took for ever to water and I tried a few drops of ivory. It worked like a charm. Heard it's good to ward off spider mites too. Good tip about the fish emulsion. As always thanks for the good tips!

Most welcome. I have used Ivory to control mites but have never been able to completely rid the garden using just it. Not saying it cant be done though. Heres what I like to use for mites. Contains the same ingredients as Doktor Doom foggers at a 1/3 of the price. Just be sure to break the top off the nozzle cover to avoid build up of the spray and blasting big foamy globs all over your plants.

Thats they Cherokee Purple maters in the background...

I currrently have no bugs except for what I think are a few aphids from my newest soil. Not really sure what they are. Only a couple here and there. Put a Venus Flytrap in last week just to see. Still alive and thriving! Have her off to the side of my mh. I think 24/7 lights might have been too much. Now it's in a corner behind my big reveg plant doing well. How do you apply that spray? And is it okay for youngen's?

For small plants that are easy to handle and can be tipped upside down its hard to beat a neem dip. But this spray is pretty safe and only burns if you over apply. Those big foamy globs I mentioned above most always leave a spot unless immediately wiped off. I use it as a direct application spray...hitting the bottom of the affected leaves.

Yep I am a dumb ass and spent 400 bucks on 10 beans!:dunce: So laugh, bash and joke along with the rest. I know they are not magic beans. And really not sure what to expect. The few things I do know. Pukka does have some good genetics on hand, over priced as they may be. What has intrigued me most researching Doggies G-13. Its all negitive speculation. I have not come across anyone that has actually grown it. Just the 'It's all hype' stuff. I am not rich but can afford the shits and giggles to follow. And you just never know... but I'm gonna get a clue in the coming winter.
:clap::fire::wall::leaf:
My buddy grew it once looked just like the ad it showed. he only ordered 2 seeds. man i wish he ordered more one of the best stones I had

Thanks for stopping by. And the flames went out last year. Cowboylogic was my brother that passed last summer. This grow is just in him honor using the remaining Dnuts G-13 Haze beans. One was harvested last week and the other a few days ago.

Got a chance to take a few pics of the crop. The 2 original G13s have already been chopped. Smelled nice and sticky. But not much on the yield side, average at best I am guessing. The backcross is just about ready to chop and is almost black the fans have gotten so purple. The C99s are getting real close and are frosty and and have some big fat nugs and fat colas. The OG Kush are stinking the place up and are fat with a few weeks to go. Spidermites have been at them all for a few weeks but really have not tried to get rid of them. Did some spot spraying here and there at first and now just going to let nature run its course. At this point they are not going to affect the final harvest. Its going to be a really nice final harvest from brothers garden..........:weed:

I took some pics of the original 13s and cant seem to find them right now. Soon as I do I will post them. Heres the rest though...

Backcross. Sure smells like candy.....
