Few things are of course perfect, but wrinkles will cause the light rays to bend and weaken while uneven parts will of course cause uneven light reflection. There was a thread about this a while back where someone used a computer simulation to accurately compare how folds/wrinkles in Mylar but I'm unable to find it right now. Maybe someone else remembers this and can link it?

well thats good enough for me, the only way to get this perfect is to dismantle a hand built cabinet and spray adhesive each piece then roll the mylar on... this cabinet was built like 25yrs ago and if it comes apart i doubt will go back together the way i plan it to... something to think of when i build the next 1

/\I just have sections of duct tape put in corners ect and then a nail with a large flat head driven into them. The duct tape will stop the Mylar from tearing and with the nail you can pull it nice and tight giving a pretty flat overall reflection. Even works with that extremely thin stuff that is used on those 3$ space blankets.
