Does drying/curing increase potency or just flavor?

First time grower 6 weeks into flower and my indica plant is beautiful with tons of milky trichs and just a little amber with fan leaves dropping fast. I cut one of the smaller colas off today after reading post about diff stages of trich composition and effect. A combination of curiosity and impatience led me to sampling a few one hitters of the smallest bud on the lowest node fresh off the plant. It didn't have any strong flavor but a hint of citrus and the effect was very desirable. I was curious if I should expect it to have a stronger effect when it finally comes out of the jar? I have read all the faqs and sticky's on this site but I am still not very clear on what exactly happens durring the drying curing process aside from chlorophyll and other unwanteds evaporating.

you get strong buds from 340% amber trichs
you get uppy high buds from 40%milky trichs

curing just reduces harshness and slowly removes moisture from the buds
which is good because if u quick dry u end up with shitty tasting buds

So i wont be kicking myself later when it comes out of the jar for partaking early? How many others do this?

It will increase potency a bit if nothing else for the fact that dry burns better than wet and you get a more complete burn and thicker smoke. No problem taking samples here and there. Best if you do yourself a little journal as you do it and see for yourself what your particular strain does. We learn as we grow.
