Curious to know if weed makes people lazy...or is there truth in the old saying: "if you were lazy before you smoked weed, you'll be lazy after you smoke weed"? also wondering if alot depends on the strains & how well they were grown, dried etc? most people buy whats available from dealers & so mostly smoke inferior or mediocre bud. Any thoughts or opinions?

Come on start typing you lazy stoners!

Indica makes me lazy. That's why I like it. Sativa doesn't make me lazy
^i agree with jack-o
Yes indica's because of the heavy body stone. Does anyone think that if everyone smoked sativa's then stoner's wouldn't be seen as lazy as much? also I assume that most criminal gangs tend to grow indica's because their easier & quicker, so most people probably very rarely in their lifetime get to try quality sativa's.

Cool, I suppose in Mexico its easier to grow tall plants & maybe their landraces are sativa's I don't know. In Europe for example i've rarely found a sativa...besides most dealers have no clue what their selling, weed is weed & thats that! lol

LOL Back in my day all there were were ceilingless Sativas. Amotivational syndrome still applied. The actual physical effect of the high isn't the 'lazy' the public health community is concerned about.

PS I am so over auto correct

I usually get stoned before I go to the gym/swimming so I don't think it's unmotivating.
I can't believe those of you who can exercise while stoned. I tried toking on a mountain top after a hike… BIG mistake. I literally tripped down the mountain. On my feet not the dope. Also when I tried riding my bike stoned the bike kept listing to one side. I was so baked I swore the bike had a bent tire or something. Funny it was fine the NEXT day..

Without a doubt, pot makes me lazy. I'm typically a very high energy person but unless it's some mindless motor activity, like cleaning, I just become one with the couch. I also notice it takes me longer to recover the next day. If I smoke one night, I"m physically tired the next day and very lethargic.

Am I the only one not smoking sativa's from street dealers LOL? Are you saying that weed doesnt encourage 'laziness' but rather less willingness to interact or participate in activities...maybe to think more out the box instead of following the norm? In any case, as hookabelly says (who belly dances after each harvest btw) alot of people are prone to couchlock, but other's not so much. Wonder why?

The public health issue is Amotivational Syndrome in adolescent males. Cannabis use is also often contraindicated in other psychiatric disorders as well. What I'm saying, in roundaboutation, is disambiguate your 'lazy'.

No the pot doesn't make you lazy... YOU are just lazy!
I didn't smoke dope for 20 years, although I'd let my workers/co-workers smoke on job...
It seemed to me, every 'stoner' was stupid, and lazy... so, no way, no me, I'm no want to get lazy and stupid not going to smoke dope...

For years I thought this....

Then I started to smoke a lot...
I started going to gym, lost a lot of weight, got back into great shape, lost my worry, and started to see the best in life...

Pot make you better at whet ever you do....
Pot makes everything better...
Pot doesn't make you stupid at all, of make bad/stupid decisions --YOU probably already make bad life decisions, pot had nothing to do with it.
EVERYONE... all of us [except me] like to make excuses on why we do stupid things, it's in the news, driver gets run over on track-oh he had how much pot in his system?
Black kid gets shot in hand when he reaches for cops gun then dies of wounds... kid had pot in his system...
Pot in your system... it's in the news EVERYDAY...
Pot has zero effect on my physical performance + OR - zero effect, I won't let my mind allow me to be lazy...
Maybe it's the cat poop effecting me.
Blame pot if you are an idiot... No, pot doesn't make you idiotic. However, play the blame game, its not your fault...

maybe it's a substance of absolutes. Meaning you either have to be constantly stoned or not. Perhaps the body gets used to having a constant level of cannabis in it and it adjusts. If you're a recreational, or intermittent consumer, then your body keeps trying to "recover" and you feel tired lazy. IDK. all I know is what my body does on it or off it.

I agree, pot makes things better, UNLESS I smoke when I've got a problem on my mind, then it's totally magnified and worse if I smoke without getting my mind ready first.

But for me, pot makes me generally slower at whatever I do, not better.
