I don't think weed is a magical cure that will repair bones, cartilage, tissue, and muscles. If you have a bad back, foot problems, or other pains for which they prescribe marijuana, you should also be eating a healthy diet and doing some type of physical therapy. Weed has different affects for each individual.

While some people may experience "pain relief" others may not. Pain relief may be as simple as getting so stoned, you can forget about the pain for a while or the body buzz sensation some weeds create alleviates muscle and joint pain.

It's important to remember that medicines and doctors can only do so much. In my case, I suffer from extreme foot pain from a severe case of plantar fasciitis. Sure smoking helps me forget about the pain, but I also need to perform daily physical therapy routines and continuously strengthen my feet. My feet hurt every day, that's not going to change no matter how much I smoke. I choose to smoke so that when I work out I can forget about the pain and just focus on the routine.

I feel like my life is better because I have the ability to medicate. It is non-addicitive and you can't OD. Hopefully as marijuana becomes more widely accepted and used, new strands can be developed with increased potency and affects. I feel like this is a definite posibility.

Does weed make any of you hurt more? I had to stop smoking while waiting for nerves to repair in my hand.

OP:
OK… Back Pain, here is my take on MJ and back pain…
I have compression fractures in my Lumbar, L4 top [next to the L5 disc]
and L2 bottom [next to L1]… So two separate injuries to low back.
I have found that everyone that has ever done a physical job, has some sort of back issue. It does no good to complain about your personal pain, cause everyone thinks their pain, is special. Sore muscles from over lifting is just pain, and not a chronic issue…
For Chronic back pain, from my fractures, and bulging discs, if I smoke enough, my pain is taken away…
A couple of years ago, I started smoking MJ to a higher degree. Guess what, it made me able to go to gym [after work, I‘d burn, then change and go to gym], and do an hour on elliptical machine, MJ even allowed me to do crunches, to improve my stomach muscles, which in turn helped take away some chronic back pain…

Fast forward, three years-- I lost ¼ of my body mass, through diet, exercise, and smoking a shit load of MJ… Without MJ, I’d be 60-80 lbs heavier than now, and in constant pain…so, when you say it does not take away your pain, I get it, maybe you have something else going on …

Seeing instant relief, is someone fixing their head, because they have low pain threshold and it’s [the pain] is in their head… Who the fukk knows what is in another’s head?
Maybe you have a low pain threshold ? And or you want to be in pain? Maybe it’s not physical, maybe, it’s all in your head? In that case, you need to fix your head…
Smoke more, inhale, hold it longer…power bowl it, one hit, hold exhale, then another hit, hold it long, exhale, and take another immediate hit…No time between hit and exhale,
When I "Power Bowl" I always get relief...
Good Luck man…

No it does not make you hurt more, it makes it so you can work through the pain....

Nothing relives my carpol tunnel pain, and yes, I have had both hands done-MJ lowers the tingling, and discomfort
{When I went in for doc to do nerve conduction test "Your right hand is the worst I have ever tested... It might never get better...we better check your left hand... your left hand is 75% as bad as your right we need to do both..."}
The surgery [one year apart] for both went fine, now 15 years later I have that nagging nerve tingling constant...
What can I do, what can I do....
Smoke more MJ....
