Does Anybody Else lift weights stoned?

Normally, I'm on reddit.com/fitness for this type of thing, but I often take a dab before getting under the barbell and I find that not only does it help me lift, but it keeps me interested in completing my workouts.

Well, I guess it doesn't "help me lift", but it keeps me in the garage between sets and makes it much more fun to complete. I just don't want to be the only one. :-)

You're not. I workout every winter while stoned for pretty much the same reasons. Nothing else to do when the weather is shit.

I'll take a few bong rips before I go to the gym everyday. I really enjoy being high when I'm lifting, not so much if I'm doing cardio though. It seems like I get in to my music way more and get really pumped up for my workout when I'm high, it seems to give me more energy

Completely the same, Astronautrob! Under the barbell, I'm a powerhouse when stones. Cardio, I just want to go home.

I have found, when doing C25K, though, that doing some rips AFTER you get home from cardio can be a real motivational helper when you just don't want to run anymore.

What is "C25K"? I've done this a couple times myself actually because when I get home from the lifting I sometimes have to go hiking with my dog and REALLY don't want to. Take a couple rips and I'm good to go. It's crazy cause I smoke the HEAVIEST indicas I can find. What about you? Does the kind of weed make a difference? I've found that in some people it makes a big difference.....

C25K is "Couch to 5K". It's an incremental run-and-walk plan to have you go from nothing to 5K runs in something like 8 to 10 weeks. I highly recommend it.

i dont do stoned lifting but i lift more so now under 10 lbs
i mostly do high impact cardio work outs but am unable to do them right now so im trying to do some light lifting.

OMG everyday!

I go 1st thing in the morning. So after a few dabs, a couple bowls and a nice BSN NO XPLODE ....once i arrive at the gym...its a wrap,,,,my eyes are fucked and they know

I started with StrongLifts 5x5, which I freakin' loved! It's a wonderful starter program for lifting and it has a great free app for your phone for tracking and telling you what weights to put on it.

After 8 months of that, I moved to a 5-3-1 program so I could add a bunch of extra workouts for each muscle group. The Reddit wiki on /r/fitness is a great resource, as well as stregtheory.com and the SL5x5 site. Good luck!

I'll smoke a few bong rips of a decent sativa. Take my preworkout nitric oxide pills and feel the blood pump. Save the indica doms for relaxing after. Fitness blender on youtube is the easiest for me. No gym and I have a wifey and 3 kids. So it works with my schedule.

perhaps i'm a lil weird but to me, I treat the bongload as a reward. and specifically do that AFTER the workout... but all the shit I grow is potent... and NOT really for anything too strenuous... minus the typical roof-burning sexual activities I like to partake in...
now... if only I could find someone to share those activities with

but I def wait until AFTER the workout... free-weights is a lil too much for light-headed-post-bongrips

Funny, I used to smoke these "trim joints" when I used to own a VW Vanagon. It stops you for 10 minutes so you can nurse your bleeding knuckles, get your head straight enough to get back under the car, but not ripped enough to lose your bearings.

Working out, on the other hand, is more zen to me. I'm doing "simple" movements, but with weight on. I like to do a dab, loosen up (really into hip flexors being loose, swinging my legs back and forth before my first squat rep). It helps me stay "in my body" and not having my mind wonder.

Then again, I stopped doing podcasts and people talking. Now, it's just things like Zero7 or electronic trance or something. "In the Zone" music. Of course, it's still "Girl Talk" All Day for cardo and the like.

I don't lift but do street workout super stoned, facilitates my process of being completely absorbed into what I am doing instead of thinking about what I am doing. Leads to much better form and control :smile:
