Building a DIY 12 bucket DWC for a friend and everything going great until i lost track of what drill bit i was using. I drilled 12, 1/2 inch holes that should have been 1/4" holes. I drilled them near the top of the bucket, under the lip where i was going to run the 1/4" feed line into. Maybe I'm just making it a bigger deal that it seems and i could just run the line in the existing hole then use some fast setting epoxy to seal around it or something? Or seal all the holes, let the epoxy harden, and then redrill? Any thoughts would be appreciated really feeling like a dumbass for this one..

Thanks that's what i was thinking too i just didn't know if there was a better alternative. Good old epoxy.. good thing i have the exhaust in his room setup that stuff is noxious..

Seal the hole. I always run lines through the lid, never the bucket.
Interesting, so you just just drill a hold on the top of the netpot or am i misunderstanding? Wouldn't that be kinda a bitch if you wanted to remove the netpots?

Here's a diagram of this one will look like. Any feedback is welcome. Sorry the drawing is garbage i never was much of an artist lol. Basicially 3/4" inch returns, 1/2" feeds lines then reduced to 1/4" for each bucket. 2 pumps in the 30 gal. control- one for the feeds, the other feeding the chiller. The control bucket has a float valve so the 50 gal res pictured bottom left with top off as needed.

I use 2" netpots and just drill a small hole for the airhose in the lid. I cut the airhose long enough to leave about 6" hanging out and I connect it to a plastic valve so it is simple to disconnect and remove lid to transfer to new bucket full and ready to go. You could do the same on the netlids.

Thanks for the help guys. I ended up epoxying a few but it was getting sloppy so i just grabbed some gommets. ^ Interesting technique that would save lots of unnecessary elbows inside the bucket and whatnot. I will keep that in mind for the next one!
