Do you wash your buds before drying? Poll

Just wanting to get some fresh opinions on washing buds before drying and curing. I've set up a poll and would like to hear opinions, methods and results from those who do and or have and how it turned out.

Also, I'm curious how common it is to sterilize mason jars before curing and what methods are used.

I've had a few cures in the past that were satisfactory, but I tend to over dry due to fear of mold, as I've ruined a batch before.

As I gear up towards harvest I've got my hygrometer dialed in. It reading perfectly at 75% and at 62% with a few salt tests and Bodeva tests.

I'd like to get a great cure this time so I've been reading like crazy the past week.

Seems washing is good idea for some more experienced guys/gals, but I have yet to give it a try

I barely take baths or showers myself ...........only time I'd ever intentionally get my buds wet is to cook with them or because I'm drooling on some .....other than that peroxide dip for PM is about the only thing I'd do wash wise .....however I do like to wash/sterilize my cure jars

I guess if I had been forced to spray something on them in flower I might be tempted to wash the buds. I try to handle them as little as possible to preserve trichomes, and I would be worried about increasing the possibility of mold. I wash my jars with soap, hot water, and a little bleach. No probs so far.

I know this guy that washes his buds, he tried to get me to do it but I don't have any need to, I don't spray pesticides or fungicides on my buds. The guy basically takes a mister and sprays his buds to clean them like you would a tomato plant then lets it dry with a fan on it after cutting for the first day so he doesn't get bud rot. I think it works best on outdoor cause theres more dust and dirt in the air and its windy and exposed to the elements.

I saw a thread about this and saw a video.. It seems like a good idea but you're not cleaning things imbedded in the bud, really just getting dirt off of leaves without trics on them. Trics are crazy sticky and oily how is a water bath going to get the debris out of the center of the bud?

I was thinking about spraying down my plant with water a few days before harvest. It should get rid of all the dust and crude that collected on the buds. Should be ok. I think.

It's pointless - isn't your by sticky?
Does water somehow unstick dust\hair\whatever it is you're supposed to be washing off?

I think @vostok washes his buds, he has some interesting techniques.

I've dropped a bud on the ground and it got covered in dirt, hair, etc I tried washing it off but not all debris was removed. Besides that I've not felt the need to wash buds but I'm sure Howard Hughes would approve.

No..No not wash buds I don't advocate that, the trics are way too fragile

I'm sure it could be beneficial in certain scenarios like dust, outdoor etc.. but otherwise seems pointless and a good way to introduce mold.

I used On Time a pyrethrin pesticide for spider mites in wk 4 and read that it couldve degraded by now but after watching jorge and some more forums, might try it on a few plants this round, maybe even a water cure

ive been groeing outdoors and think its a good idea to wash the branches like in the video by jorge cervantes because of dirt, bugs and caterpillar poop. it makes sence to me as long as it doesnt ruin the weed

I washed some buds recently with and H2O2 solution. Didn't bust the trichomes and after drying and through curing I've seem no signs of mold or PM. I wanted to experiment on a sample before I do this on the rest of my bud.

I'm planning on doing something similar to the video above, but I'm planning on wet trimming before I rinse (Jorge does it after). I see no reason to dirty up the water with stuff that was on fan leaves that are going to come off anyway.

If anyone knows a reason I should not wet trim before washing, please let me know.

I wouldnt wash my buds unless they were moldy... and even then im the type to toss it out or make hash out of it of its salvagable.

I rinse my buds with water while still on the plant outside. But inside i wouldnt think of doing that to my indo; no way.

I will definitely be washing my buds. I never done it before. Can someone tell me the formula for the lemon juice and baking soda method? 4 separate water baths?

btw.. i sprayed down my plants a few weeks ago with my garden hose and there's no ill effect. If you logically think about how outdoor cannabis plants get rained on and all... than bud washing shouldn't be a big deal. Trichomes aren't water soluble, meaning it won't dissolve when water touches it.
