Do you smoke your clippings?

in legal states now you gotta realize this fluff and sugar leaf shit is plentiful, a nuisance really. drying it, storing it...its all weight for us, illegal weight if we're at our limits. It makes no sense to use up time and resources to gain less oil from sugar leaves than from excess/old buds. We dont ever have issues of shortages, on the contrary.

clear this up a bit.
the thc in the sugar leaves is just as potent as the bud thc. there is less of it on the sugar leaves. they test lower thc by weight because of this fact. sugar leaves are a win. I toss my frikken roaches in the fire full time, I'm so embarrassed to admit it, but why would I ever choose to suck up a sappy used sticky joint when I have 20+ strains all sitting here full time for me to sample, brand new, fresh, plus I am required to test this before it leaves, its my duty. roaches stink, take up space, taste like shit.

now in the 70s I held them dear, sometimes even for special occasions, so..... by by pipe scrapings and bag dust. when I see a bud on the floor, and I do most days ...it gets sucked up by the robot and I dont give shit. all floor cooties and shit...lol
Actually I'm in quite tthe opposite position where as I had bags and bags of shake back in the 80's as we were doing field grows and yes then it became somewhat of a burden to deal with and yes if busted they weighed it all lol. Now with just a small grow I try to utilize most of the plant. Besides the fact that concentrate is pretty much the only thing that really pops for me :).

Okay I will be honest. I am getting tired of the taste and smoking 5-6x as much as normal just to catch a little buzz.
.

this is purely strain selection, grow habits, room controls. I know exactly what you speak of and decided to grow my own and be provider after I was satisfied with my build. switch it up a bit, try a new supplier, new seeds, etc.

good luck

Hunh, My youngest has IBS and chews leaf etc. Helps him very much....
I know right, cannabis effects are all over the map eh, almost anecdotal when shared. Thats why I meh when I hear things like "this strain is good for X" considering my sativas make some sleep, some paranoid, some creative, some laugh and some very anxious.
With so many variables from the rooms the plants were pollinated in for seeds to the personal finish judgement, to drying/storing/method of ingestion/ rx use/personal health and mentality too. all over the map, I love it

We do not live in an area where marijuana is legal yet (hopefully soon!). Currently we are doing a closet grow (4 plants). This will be for my wife for medication purposes and enjoyment on my part I will add. As we are new at this, and I have not had a toke since the late 70‘s, there is a lot of catching up to do. We would really appreciate guidance on what to do with the trim. Due to my wife's constant pain, the sooner that we can medicate, the better. If there is any way of using the trim, we will.

In all reality. It was his specialist that quietly suggested he try it.

If it's trim off the buds - butter or coconut oil. Use that to make meals, candy, cookies etc. Can be more effective for pain then smoking if done right. Dose concentrations are not hard to control.

This cooking with cannabis is a large topic, with lots of info available....

I live this everyday, trying to find a strain that appeals to both my partner and myself, we are total opposites when it comes to effect. It's so far been impossible to grow one strain that is enjoyed by us both. I need a bigger grow shed lol.

it is quite easy if prepared. When your space is equipped properly and you ca follow directions thats about all there is to it. pick up a copy of a grow bible, cervantes, rosenthl, whatever. check out what a room needs, what a plant should have, and what you should expect.
once you're perpetual harvest is cycling you wont need to sweep the floor scraps up anymore.

Not sure there is much to do with the trim (while growing) off of 4 plants that will be of much benefit but I do give some of my dried sun leaves to a girl that makes butter. I dont trim much while growing the plant, just the very odd leaf. And I hear ya brother re the legal thing. Your wife is medcating now right? There is always the prescription thing. I really am not all that excited about this grow 4 little plants law thing lol.

Thanks for your thoughts - once we are perpetually growing / harvesting we will be set up real nice. In the meantime my wife is taking her opioids (has been for many years +20). Not much of a chance that it will change but she does have an app't soon with a pain specialist soon so who knows she may end up with the medical marijuana. If so, she will be able to slowly get off the opioids. She doesn't have much of a life now. Meanwhile, we will keep growing and soon get started on our own with or without a prescription.

I'm going on 10 years at 70 mg per day and sometimes more, so I can relate. When I hurt my back (ladder fall) my doctor perscribed oxy and I asked if it was addictive, "nope" he says :(. I hope you guys get the meds you need. As for a prescription there are a few clinics that are walk in's that will issue a scrip for money of course, buddy just got his last month. I prefer to stay under the radar myself lol.

Salutations from the UK.
Excuse me ignorance firstly, super amateur 1st thriving outdoor grow.OG Kush from RQS.
Near flowering, trimmed off some excess leaves shoots stalks.
Quite pungent, left me with lightly sticky fingers, so I threw a leave n stalk in to chew on.
No major effect, yet tongue felt numbed. What is this?!
I saw this thread a while back , thought I'd post , see what youse all mek of it!

My harvest trim (sugar leaf and popcorn nugs) get used for dry ice hash.

To test my plant's potency, though, i will clip off a lower popcorn bud as soon as they show (3 weeksish) and smoke it in a pipe. What I've found is that buds are as potent at 3 weeks as they are at finish. But they are not as tasty.

From what I understand the THC in marijuana is THC Acid. The acid form will not get you high. Heat transforms the THC-acid to THC.

Sorry been offline for a while.
Been making some tasty tea of an eve, helps sleep. Similar to the organic EU certified yada yada you can get on Amazon. Beats 'mood stabilisers' from the GP!
Aside , probably something for another thread, my lady's been looking like about to flower, but been looking like that for around 2 weeks at least now ?!
I trimmed back about 3 weeks ago, was looking bare, now bushed up again... Should be trimmed again? Got some big ass leaves covering up other newer leafage?
Peace
