do you rinse out your net pot (hydrotron) when you change res?

What the title says,

should you rinse out with water/phed water your net pots when you change your res?

or do you just not touch it ever?

Never touch it unless you get nasties growing in it.

When I was using hydroton,I would always start with clean washed rocks in my cups.It was a pain in the rear to clean the rocks.I switched over this time to medialess growing.No rocks,no rockwool,nothing but foam plugs and netcups,the net cups get washed every cycle.
I always worried about the nutes being left on the rocks and it messing with my solutions ph or something.
