hi i have an enclosed room completely wrapped in plastic and i only have a little 150 cfm fan blowing into an 8ft by 4ft room this room is only used for my dark room. been having problems with my plants like losing almost all my fan leaves and eventually gets to the sugar leaves. had the same problem last grow thought it was the hard water now im using culligan water. my soil is ffof and am using euro a and b bloom and beastie bloomz and gravity. well anyways i know plants produce co2 at night is the lack of oxygen at night screwing things up? thanks for any help peace

im wondering the same think cause someone ragged on me for not having a fan on during the dark hours but then ive read places that the plant doesnt take up CO2 at night. they contradict eachother so idk

also do plants take in oxygen through the the leaves or from the oxygen in the water.

yeah i dont think they use co2 at night either. do you have any problems with no fresh air in your dark room

plants breathe in c02 during the day and oxygen at night. yes you need fresh air, if it's a closet or something just leaving the door open could be enough but i would def recommend another fan, make sure the fan is oscillating and not blowing directly on it

could this be causing my problems never had these problems in the past and the room is a 8x8 room divided in half and the dark side wrapped tight in plastic to where no fresh air can enter except for the 150 cfm. guess ill pick up another more powerful fan to get more fresh air.

sounds like they need to be totally separated man, you need a pathway for air to come in and out. According to your setup a hole would cause light to come through possibly making your plant not flower or herm itself.

So you have air pushing in but no outlet? Need a whole somewhere (with light traps) so it can circulate.

in short, yes plants always need good air flow and proper exchange

Unlike humans who constantly inhale, the exhale repeated all day, plants inhale carbon dioxide all day long and exhale oxygen all night. Thats why I don't give 24 light in veg growth.

Respiration is not light dependent and is necessary 24/7 in plants. Therefore, plants are producing carbon dioxide at a steady rate all times. Photosynthesis (ps) is a light dependent reaction and (up to a limit and within certain criteria) its rate is directly proportional to the amount of available light.
At night, ps will stop and no oxygen will be produced. During the day, ps will be very rapid and will produce lots of oxygen, far exceding the CO2 made by respiration. The balance shifts cyclicly. Ps will be equal to respiration probably twice a day, once in the early morning and once a little before twilight.

bro i keep no fan on when my lights are off and its been 10 weeks in 12/12 and no problems dude probably didnt mean no harm he just didnt know any better thing is to find out is to experiment but wait till like a few weeks before harvest to do it so if anything goes wrong it wont cause no harm because heyre cross the finish line and to answer nguys question yes they need some source of fresh air because if youre just circulating old hot air then whats to helpp bring those temps down or up either way u need some fresh air

plants produce co2? i thought they "inhale" co2 and release oxygen

It's more complicated than that. Here this should help This is respiration.

During respiration (plants and animals)energy is released from sugar(glucose)by a series of chemical reactions. The sugar is broken down into carbon dioxide and water in a process which uses oxygen. Respiration is the chemical opposite of photosynthesis because it releases energy, using up food and oxygen and producing carbon dioxide.
It does both just at different times of day.
