Do mites die in the dark? Not sure to do a post cut down dunk???

My mate had been fighting russet mites. He is cutting down now. They look decent but he is not sure if russets could still be in the buds. We did a Jorge Cervantes aka George Salem hydrogen and water dunk in the past to wash off crap, bugs and any PM. Everything looked cleaner and Jorge swears it does not wash off terps.

Debating on doing a dunk again. I am wondering if mites die in the dark when stalks/buds are hanging in drying room???

I saw an interesting video recently about mycorrhizae.
It is highly species and even strain dependent, but in some cases when some mycorrhizae grow with plants, it reduces the number of insects attracted to the plant as well as increases predation on those parasites.
