Do autoflowering plants yield bad?

I like the fact that you changed your mind after growing photoperiods for so long... I mean you have been growing almost as many years as my age, heh.

Im checking mephisto seeds too. That plants looks yummy
Instead of clone area, veg area and bud area I now have a grow area. I love it, lights stay on 18/6 and never change. Soak the seed, plant it in the final pot if possible and 10 weeks later your smoking some meds. That GG was 72 days old at chop.

Sorry for the dumb question but... is 19/5 a weird light schedule? Everyone talks about 18/6, 20/4, 24/0, but no one does 22/2 or 19/5.

I know one person that does the 19/5 and it works just fine. I only have experience running 18/6, fastbuds (the first autos I ran) recommends that for their seeds and it seems to work well on every auto I've grown since. I've read on comparison grows that their is no difference between 18/6 and 20/4. I personally don't think 24/0 is good for the plants, they do need to rest, but their are guys running it with good results.

Awesome, im gonna use 18/6 then. I hace space for 9 medium sized plants or six big ones. I was planning on letting three plants grow one month and then another three the next month so I can harvest every month. I dont know if i will use 7 litre pots or 11 litre pots. People seem to prefer 11 litre , plants get bigger.

I use 11 and 19, 11 works good, 19 a bit better.

Thanks again for the good answer. I use a 400W HPS Sunmaster dual mix bulb, I was told it is top notch. Or at least medium to high quality, I also use the same brand ballast. My plants seem to like it, but I usually have to veg longer because I always get short bushy plants (see pics). I veg longer so they can reach more height.

My reflector is just a basic one. I didn't think about adding young ones, it makes sense. BTW that's one hell of a setup you are doing there. I agree it is worth it in the long run. I hope my autos don't stay this short... and if they do, I hope they yield OK. Im not expecting a lot per plant but enough to keep me supplied for a long time. I'm going to try a perpetual grow with autos as you suggested. Thanks.

Those are gorgeous plants Elfo! Are those autos? Sunmaster are great bulbs too and when I read a post where someone says there's no difference between a $100+ SunMaster/Hortilux and a standard $30 hps bulb I gotta laugh.

A basic reflector is fine. I've been using a small crappy one for years that works OK and just going to get cheaper ones tho lots better to upgrade. I have a buddy's air cooled hood here and didn't like it. It focused the light into too small an area and even when I rigged up another mogul socket on the other end didn't please me.

I used metal strapping to form a frame to hold the socket and a hose clamp to hold it in place on the inlet side of the hood and stuck a 150W HPS bulb in it to go with the 400. I could have got another 400 in there just by tilting my fixture a few degrees off plumb.

Your autos should get a lot bigger and you should start adding bloom nutes and bloom boosters at lower levels along with the veg nutes they are getting as soon as they start to bud up increasing the ratio of bloom to veg nutes as the weeks go on.

Meant to put this pic up to show my crappy reflectors that have served me well for over a decade. Tinfoil side shields to get more light on the plants and they work good enough. Most of my grow stuff is DIY and like my house my grow room is furnished in Early Garage Sale.

Doesn't really matter but more hours of light to a point can get better yields. Some photos flower fine at 14/10 and the 2 extra hours of light each day seems to give better yields tho I just go 12/12.

Heh well you get a lot of satisfaction by doing it yourself. As long as it works, that's fine. Man, those are some huge stems. I don't know how you guys get stems that big :I (guess by vegging longer) looks like you're gonna get a decent yield with scrog. Looking good.

I tried sunmaster and another brand called sylvania and both work very well. In my first grow I got a bud that was as thick as my forearm. I also noticed that while being a "warmer" light spectrum, plants don't stretch. Quite the opposite, as I said I have a hard time making my plants grow taller.

My plants are feminized seeds from a new seedbank in Spain, but I know the seeds are black domina X secret hybrid. Im also growing white strawberry skunk from strain hunters but one plant hermied. I hope it didn't pollinate my entire room or I'm going to be really pissed off.

Plants are looking good, none of them have reached 2 ft and only two of them will, but I hope I get a decent harvest before moving to autoflowering plants.

You are right, I tried to copy subcool's supersoil but im missing half the ingredients in my country. You can find them and you can get very good quality ingredients, but those are different. I had to improvise my own supersoil recipe and went a bit overboard with blood meal which is high in nitrogen. I didn't get burned tips and the plants took it like a champ, but they seem to like it. I thought they were going to die after 3 days or something because I had no idea what I was doing. lol

These are in 15 inch pots. They hold close to five gallons for size reference. Under a 432 watt t5. 19/5 light schedule. Anything 18/6 and over is fine. I think they actually perform best around 19/5. The yield might be better under hid.

Its all on how you grow them.

There are things to do to make them grow bigger. Run bigger pots. 5 gallons if you can. Run veg nutes all the way through. Both will extend the veg time.

The only thing that I still doubt is pot size. I have a one square meter tent (I think it is 3x3 and 6 feet high in your metric system) with 400w HPS and the guy who owns the growshop where I buy seeds told me to go for 16 plants in 7 litre pots ( i think it would be 2 gallon pots) but Im leaning more towards 12 plants in 3 gallon pots... I've heard you get almost no gain after 3 gallon pots. Well I don't want to start a debate again, but I still have 5 days to make up my mind... lol. :D
