hey bro I just wondering if u knew anything about these kinds of males, are they alrite to breed with
Im not sure what your breeding intentions or goals are, so I can't answer if they would be alright for you to breed with. If you mean do I think they will produce viable pollen, I think yes. But they also look hermaphroditic. Im not sure what the seeds were, if they were feminized or what strain they are from. But they appear to be pretty severely hermaphroditic and as far as production breeding may present some complications in the form of hermaphroditic offspring?

I do not know the entire history of my fathers breeding, but Im pretty certain he never intentionally used a 'backwards' hermi in his breeding endeavors. (Im sure someone reading this will know better and could correct me if I am mistaken). But if I remember correctly it was his Chocolate Thai that had hermi issues that were uncontrollable but that he selected ones that were 'manageable' enough to breed with because of his love for the strain.

Personally in todays market I'd absolutely stay away from anything that exhibited these types of symptoms or was acquired under the conditions that you allude to having acquired this one just because the chances of it having had a "mutagen" used on it at some time are most likely high. What people are doing nowadays are reversing the sex of plants to make seeds with them so they can have genetic access to the strain other than clone form. Most likely people are doing this to breed with because it's easier to use this chemical to reverse the sex than it is to breed your own genetics. However, as far as I know these mutagens alter the physical make up of the plant and it's offspring. This is most likely my guess for what you're looking at with this plant. And if I were you, I wouldn't use it to breed with out of fear of it passing on this hermi defect to it's offspring. I also wouldn't acquire such seeds that I suspected of having had this treatment done to them out of not knowing how the offspring would respond and not wanting to support a chemical market.

"'Backward" hermorphidites are males that eventually sport female flowers (as opposed to the usual female to male hermorphodites). These are rare occurrences, usually sterile but sometimes viable, that I found to be genetically valuable. Many resinous and desireable males exhibit this trait, which almost guarantees against unwanted homeomorphism in subsequent generations as it also increases the female to male ratio in it's progeny."

He does, that quote is from DJ Shorts book. DJ has long talked about using a backwards herm male.

^ There are a lot of people who completely disagree with DJ Short on using backwards hermie and claim that is the reason some of his lines have mutant and hermie issues. I dont know personally.
