does the ac side of the driver have a green wire? usually the AC power side has a positive , negative and a earth, the out let to the LEDS just has 2 wires a positive and negative... thats normal and is fine..
just pulled up a image of your driver, yes you only need a two prong cable without grounding

If the driver has a double insulated symbol (a square within a square) then it is (supposedly) certified as being insulated sufficiently and an earth connection would have no effect as you can't get a leakage path from mains via the low voltage output to earth.

Typically if a fitting has a metal housing and has mains in it, then the metal needs to be earth. Modern LED fittings with an external driver, even if the fitting is metal, would not need an earth wire if the driver is double insulated, which i would image this one is or else it would be provided with a earth wire.

your safe as houses i think.

A 100,000 stoners use led drivers every day... Im yet to hear of a forum post on getting a electric shock yet , my evil self lives in hope, a electric fence shock at best.. well on your baby driver anyway.. on the AC side, measures are in place to protect 5 billion people plugging into power, never meet anyone who died using residential power, but thats just me. but good your playing it safe.
ive ripped a few meanwell drivers apart and the components are totally melted in a block of hard molten plastic insulating every part, even the ones with a earth wire like mine.

Ive drilled a hole in a bath of water with a 24volt electric drill , and im still all good... maybe...possibly lol ill let you be the judge of that.

Thank you. You've provided a lot of valuable information. This driver does have double squares. I just don't want damage the board or myself, so I had to be sure.

what is the problem lately with boards being available but not heatsinks? Isn't about time these supply problems ended? I'm a big fan of HLG and their products, but its long past time for these issues to be resolved, the continuing out of stock issues have become cause for many people who would buy to look elsewhere. WE are the people who got you off the ground, time to reward us with reasonable supply availability. I've built a business from scratch on a budget, I know it isn't easy. Maintaining inventory is critical to continued success.
Cobkits has heatsinks !!

I ended up getting my last 3 qbs and heatsinks from Cobkits because HLG didn’t have heatsinks wish they could figure out how to keep stock on hand it very annoying they have great product but stock is always an issue

Links? I only see the ones for single cobs and not quantams but I also have to use my phone to look while at work.
http://cobkits.com/product-category/pcbs/quantum-boards/
there in the quantum board and accessories not the heatsink menu
Just got mine :)
Just a question with my 2 board build using angle for the frame do I use 12mm x 12mm x 1.6 mm or 20mm x 20mm x 3mm?
Looking at the sinks with board on the 12mm would fit more snugly although the 20mm much stronger.
Thoughts please?

Combos are on the website. If you purchased boards contact us and we will take care of you.
I got all excited thinking multiboard heatsinks were for sale. These are just singles. I was able to squeeze HLG for a Slate 6 Quad last week but it wasn't cheap. Someone could made good loot fabricating heatsinks right now.
Get QB 132's ..no heat sink needed. spread out that light !!

haha true that @WeedSexWeightsShakes !

These things are going to be weak, you can probably come within an inch of these lights without any issues, they wouldn't bleach and your main issue would be directly touching and burning. I wouldn't bother growing plants with this as the main light source, better as side lighting or a novelty item
(: god damn weak ass side lighting....lololol

PCB boards are junk, small diodes are junk
those pesky small diodes...

Those run too low wattage they won't produce the same intensity you just don't get it.
(: classic

Where is she? Time for some pie, @Yodaweed.

scaling up some wet plants
haha sounds about right!

The sad thing is that he probably still believes this
hmmmmm i fear you're correct! @Yodaweed is he right?

I like this Yodaquote the best i think-
Hey look who was right the whole time, posted on the first page
hahahahah brilliant (:

its a tough decision though...

If you are opposed to slave labor stop buying LEDs they are made in china by slaves, most in shenzhen , in guangdong providence. Buy american get a hortilux, they are hand made in the USA by workers that are properly compensated. These samsung LEDs are made in shenzhen by the way...
Very good for growing succulents and herbs lol
This one's a banger...
Those aren't new tech I already seen plants grown with those PCB board LEDs, that's what mars hydro uses inside their lights and lighthouse hydro use those too, they are used in most panel LEDs....
another load of dribble here...
Move that light 1 inch further and the losses will be tremendous, 12 inches is max range for that thing for sure. PCB boards are junk, small diodes are junk, main issue with running multiple small diodes is they lack any penetration, basic laws of physics prevent it, mainly the law of the inverse square. Small initial value = low intensity. And you don't add all the diodes together to get those numbers they are based on each individual point of light. That's the main reason every single LED maker stopped doing 1 watt diode and all moved to either 3w or 5w even though they are less efficient
and some more...
Bro all you new guys on this site do is make outrageous claims with nothing to back it up, you make these dumb charts up that mean nothing. Those lights are junk PCB board lights, oldest LED grow light tech on the market
There's pages of it.
