DIY with Quantum Boards

Why so high? your creeping into CO2 enrichment temps. Not needed for good growth otherwise, imo. With temps that high, then RH becomes harder to maintain. Not saying its how best to do it, but I don't let my tents get over 75, and shoot for 70-75F. If he has slow growth, its not from the temps. At 30 days, something is wrong, a runt, or other issues. Raising the temperature isn't going to fix anything

Keep it over 80 if you can. Personally, I'd steer clear of anything approaching 90.

Just saying that based on the advice I've seen a lot of the vendors here give to people who are having issues with nutrient uptake. My understanding is that due to the lack of IR under LED, you should run over 80 degrees in order to raise the surface temp of the leaves, thereby aiding in transpiration. But that's just my layman's interpretation. If I'm wrong, I'm happy to be set straight!

I always wondered what happens to cannabis outdoors in the tropics in places like India and Brazil. My tents have been around 80 or so for ages with LEDs.

This..^^

Im new to growing in general, but it seems that the quantum board only grows have, so to speak, raised the temp numbers before CO2 is needed...or so i have read. I dont know enough or have enough experience to say one way or another.

I’ve heard what @Humple its talking about & think temps in the 80’s with LED’s work best if humidity is not high. When I had cheap china builds like platinum still made my temps hit 80’s the terps were more fragrant. Now I have a cree 3590 diy build that is in low to mid 70’s the buds look dank (best ive grown) but the terps arnt there as much as in past grow with same plants.

The only think with the higher temps as someone’s mentioned before is the humidity which is a bitch for me most of the year. I rather take the low temps all day, I will still need a dehumidifier for summer. Just glad the COBs & Boards can eliminator a lot of the extra heat I had to deal with.

I wonder if this will be the case when it comes to the cured buds though? It could just smell more fragrant, as the higher temps. may be allowing more terps to escape. I have noticed my room smells more when its running a little on the hot side.

On an aside, does anyone have a suggestions when it comes on configuring a 4x4 tent? I will be using (2) QB208's at 110w each and (3) photon phantom LM561 boards at 70 watts each. These are my two ideas, but I have no idea which may offer a better spread. lol any input?

Yeah I agree, I think the cured product will be just fine. Not sure about the the terps escaping as if they go anywhere but the colder temps is like trying to smell food out the fridge vs warmed up in a pan ect..

I’ll take the lower temps for sure but my summers should be around low 80’s with new builds. Long as I can prevent mold Im happy usually why I run sativs in the summer they love it!

Here is a pretty interesting talk on the subject of terpenes:

She says that that the hotter it is, the more scent molecules (among others) are given off the plant. She goes into detail and gives exact temperature and handling procedures for cannabis. That means you're losing out on those compounds. Anything you can smell is already lost to the air. Cannabinoids and flavonoids are also lost in the same manner.
That, in my opinion, is a reason to keep temp on the lower side. I always have tried to do so from seedling to cured product. Only in the last 6 months I've managed to achieve the growing part when ditching the last hps.
It is less fragrent during bloom but lifts off when placed into the jars. I get such good feedback, specifically on the smell.
Go watch this video if you like to know in detail

Cooking with Quantum ........ :weed:

Cooking up a small batch of infused glycerin ( veg ) .....
Using 11 grams of Quantum grown Green Crack .....

QB 288 ( 260 w )
3000k grow
18" canopy height

18/6 ( up to week 5 )
12/12 ( week 5 1/2 to week 7 )
11/13. ( week 8 til end )

Quantums ran cool from day one , only oscillating fan .
79° average temps when operating
Tip : Swiffer dust the HEATSINK once in awhile to keep dust from making an insulating layer ( heat ) .

Figured what the hell ... This batch will be crockpot done , but wifey wanted to try .
I do the double boiler way myself ..... I use either as sweet tongue drops , in jello and in my syrup for my waffles ( karo dark ) .... Good shit . It will be my stealth ADDITIVE for the egg nog floating around the office .... I got some fellow workers covered , LOL.

Thanks @robincnn and @Stephenj37826 .....:weed:

I like option 2.

Day 33f, starting to bulk up. I've managed to raise the fixture in 10cm/4inch. The distance between the canopy and the fixture is between 15-30cm/5-12inch. The strech on this strain (jillybean) is ~300%.. cobs are still at 30-40% capacity running around 500ma and the boards on 80%, around 1400ma.

I'm honestly not sure. But it's irrelevant. It's about the diodes. The diodes are Samsung diodes. If the "knockoffs" I receive are not Samsung diodes s6 bin, I will promptly return them and admit I was wrong.

I have absolutely no problem with admitting that I'm wrong.
I'm wondering if you'll be classy enough to wait until you're sure you're right before starting all the shit talking.

Guess not...

Here's one of my hanging basket plants, recieving only difuse light. She hangs in a corner. Think she looks pretty good! these plant are simply bonus bud to me. I don't care how big they get or how much bud they make! But I think this already look like its going to be a winner! I have another small plant growing and more strain started. This one is near a QB304 running at 65 watts.
