DIY with Quantum Boards

Will physics also dictates that the use of optics can take those small raindrops and funnel them into a river. So as long as the volume is there and you direct it correctly"optics" you have the same intense light. These boards are offered just like cobs no optics. As you can see though they are designed around optics. That bar you are looking at above is 240 watts. @18" it's over 1100 PPF in the center. No go look up some 240 watt cob lights at 18" that are that high stand alone that high in a non reflective room. Hey I sell a 630 watt duct cooled cob light. Do you think I would waste my time going backwards really? We not only test and test and test but we also do computer simulations of our fixtures as well. Just wait for the reviews and grow journals to come in then come back and let me know how bad these are. Screenshot 2016-11-16 22.40.33.png

Move that light 1 inch further and the losses will be tremendous, 12 inches is max range for that thing for sure. PCB boards are junk, small diodes are junk, main issue with running multiple small diodes is they lack any penetration, basic laws of physics prevent it, mainly the law of the inverse square. Small initial value = low intensity. And you don't add all the diodes together to get those numbers they are based on each individual point of light. That's the main reason every single LED maker stopped doing 1 watt diode and all moved to either 3w or 5w even though they are less efficient.

Mars Hydro lmao...... That would be like comparing Chinese 2 dollar blurple cobs to a CXB3590.

These are white light top bin SAMSUNG LEDS. They are not epistar or whatever.

Yea there are better mono diodes out there than these Samsung Chinese leds. 5w cree xlamps are way better.

Lol no Cree is way behind in mid power. There high power XML 2 are OK if you under drive the hell out of them. it would cost you twice as much to get the same efficacy as with these Samsungs. I don't care of you believe or not. just call up mouser or digikey and ask them the performance. I'm not going to sit here and argue all day with you. Believe what you will. TTYL

Those run too low wattage they won't produce the same intensity you just don't get it.

Application for growing plants :weed:

jk ..
A great DIY alternative to COB. Better way to make low profile, light weight, high efficiency lamps. No TIM application is needed.
Heat is spread more and easily manageable. Efficiency is a little higher. More angles of light for minimal shadows.

without optics.. these boards good for veg lamp where you need a good light spread. They will work great in tent for flowering.
Great for use where you are limited by overhead height. Great for high efficiency if you under drive them.

With optics great for application where you need deeper canopy penetration or for use in space with no reflective sides.

That's what you wanted to put up against my Pro-9?o_O @Stephenj37826 !
You're gonna have to do better then that guy!

id put money that $1900 worth of quantum boards and drivers would hand some ass to a pro 9

lets say 20 quantum boards = $1500
(4) HLG-240H-C2100 = $280
and budget $150 for heatsinks/flat aluminum

thats 1000W@ 184 lm/W

pro9 wouldnt touch that it would be lucky to push 160 lm/W

penetration is a myth. distributed light sources will always be better than point sources for our application. comparing latest top-bin samsungs to mars with epistar is faulty. these smds use the same phosphor tech as the cobs weve grown to love

$1900 of Next-Light won't. Can't compare a manufactured product to DIY in cost unless it's enhanced white. That ain't right. Manufacturer costs.
I got nothing against these Quantum Dildo Boards.
I would surround my plants w/ them
realistically. That's just me though.
Also, you may not be aware, but no ones ever paid msrp for an AM.

Remember guys I build and sell The MAXIMIZER. Do you think I'm stupid? Of course not. I'm scientific about this stuff. I haven't seen anyone else post photometrics. As far as I know only @Greengenes707 is the only other one who has put his unit in a Goniophotometer.
Good Morning!
The prices your getting for cob lights, no, you are for from stupid.
So, have you considered my counter offer to the Shere & Gynecologist visit?
It would give poeple a chance to see a Board grow bigger plants in the grow aspect & get #'s from a regular grower. I'll run a Cobber too if you want. Fuck it, your Surf-Board & Maxi-Pad. Vs. my Pro-9. That should help you.

Bro all you new guys on this site do is make outrageous claims with nothing to back it up, you make these dumb charts up that mean nothing. Those lights are junk PCB board lights, oldest LED grow light tech on the market, if you want to see those things smashed up go watch @REALSTYLES break his mars hydro LED, that's the tech those lights use. Junk PCB board tech.
You have got to be kidding about someone making claims with no backup!!! LOL this is by far the funniest post you have ever put up here. Because that's all YOU DO! :bigjoint:

If you don't like LED's fine, but you don't have to come to the LED section to crap on everyone else's threads right?

Any word on the citi maximizer re-test?..............and "quantum" board, still looking at topping 2.8+ ppf/w? I see 2.4 being thrown around now...

GG's results fall in line with timber's on cxb performance

The 2.4 figure is driving the boards at 100 watts or so. At 25 watts is what I was referring to.

I'll have the new units sent out in 1-2 weeks. Super busy right now lol.
