DiY LEDs - How to Power Them

Hey guys, would the meanwell LPC-60-1400's work with these 100w warm white LEDs from ebay, or do I need a different one? I attached the power specs.

Tried searching the thread, still reading through all 107 pages. Hope to find an answer, as I continue to learn. I bought some cheaper LEDs for my prototype and I plan to build something with higher end crees next.

I suspect it would work. I measured a 100W generic COB like the one pictured to be 35.4 Vf at 3.05A. The LPC-60-1750 maxes at about 34Vf so probably a good match.
 
If you have a multimeter you can sort out which is which. Where did that driver come from? Good numbers except that little mixup

if you look at the google images for that driver, some are wired like yours, others are wired correctly. It should be easy to go to any electrical supply house and ask them to test it for you. If you use a voltmeter and hook the positive voltmeter lead to the red, and black to black, if the voltmeter shows negative voltage then you know the wire colors are wrong.

That is the store where I bought them. I will have a multimeter this weekend so will measure them. The ebay seller is also looking into it for me. Thanks for your tips.

I was just wondering, I saw SDS powering a arduino using the dimming output of his driver +10V.
Would it be possible to use for fan ?

I have an HLG 120H B series driver about to power 12 vero 10's. I don't have a dimmer to connect yet. Can I cap off the ends for the dimmer control and use the driver as normal? I want to test out the wiring and whatnot but I have yet to pick up a dimmer.

EDIT: Wow. Answer literally one post above mine. Look at that!

Related to the above post,
Today might the day I solder but I may want a potentiometer rated for over 1A of current (isn't that going to cost more than building a PWM controller?). Maybe it's just a control circuit but wonder why it uses 16 gauge wire!

just to be sure I got this right... and correct me if I'm making a mistake...
using a meanwell hlg-185h-c1050b and 4 x vero 29's...
Just wire the + from the power supply to + on the first COB, then the - to the next + and repeat, on the last cob a wire which runs from - to the - line of the psu.
My first point of confusion, if I do use a 100K pot and don't intend to use it to turn the light off can I leave out the WTF section in red :)

So with the ground lug on the pot, that can go to the fixture and to earth ground as well?
the other two lugs on the pot, doesn't really matter which one gets the blue or white, but one to each?

Not really a need to test anything, I know how many volts the 4 COB's should be using and know what the current should be at. Don't follow this as instructions, it is me guessing.

Has anyone wired solderless chips from rapid with regular cobs in series? I want to run 1 vero 10 and 2 solderless xmls together in series on one driver. I am confused on what is + and - with the solderless, however. The plug thing got me confused!

Right now I'm thinking the + from the driver goes to the vero, which then connects to the bottom wire for the solderless....
The - from the driver goes to the top wire for the solderless?

I know it's possible, just need that nudge in the right direction :D

looks like one side is positive one negative..,from a quick look. + side.....pos. Maybe not...no idea what they got going on

they should have instructions somewhere on the site

assuming that all the solderless leds are facing the same direction as in the video.....

trace the "top" wire path from wire to one end of the connector to the pcb trace and to the other end of the connector.
The top wire will connect each led in series + to -, or - to + depending on which end you start at. The bottom wire connection is there to complete a circular loop back through all the leds and finally back to the driver.

to connect an led without the solderless connection in a series of solderless connections, just splice in on the top wire OR the bottom wire, and leave the other wire connected as is.

sorry pic is really needed to clarify, but if you just trace the wires to see what the circuit is doing, it becomes crystal clear. The solderless pcb board shows the circuit, note how the bottom wire is not connected to the led on the board.
