DIY led grow

It was running about 92*f with the reds and about 420w power draw. With just the white cobs it's down to 85*f at 450w. Including fans...about 25w of fan power. Actually getting 85*f temps with quarter the fan power. Heatsink is cool to the touch now
are those air temps in the tent or heatsink temps ?

Time to roll with some reds again

The luxeon blues werent that bad but they werent that great in the mix either. Nodes were tight but the growth seemed slow. 5k did good on its own but i thought I saw a little room for improvement. So...oslon 3t - 4t hyper reds back in the mix. 6 at 700ma..

Pics of bjb 20mm star connectors in case anyones interested. Nice for not having any terminals exposed

Is this for your spectral research cab or for veg that you added the reds to 5000k?

Light fixture looks clean.

Light fixture is scratched up..lol. Been working out the kinks and handling it a lot. Its for veg right now. I have some seedlings in there so I'll find out quickly if the reds need to be off at seedling time

Some other random stuff..

My early temp readings were way off. I was initially getting 48*c at 1.05a with about a 5c temp difference between leds. After some rework of the cooler setup...fixed a hole in a heatpipe i made with the drill...thinned out the tim...clamped it down harder. Leds now run at 38*c on full draw both reporting very similar temps....:p. Just a 8*c rise..much better. Im actually getting a 1*c to 2*c lower temperature off the cxa Tj test spot on the surface of the cob versus the back of the copper plate. The temps on copper plate and cxa follow each other closely so i take that as very good heat transfer and dissipation. the temps also rise and lower as i adjust the cpu cooler fan speed so i know the higher fan speed keeps me at absolute lowest temps and is doing its job

Some early budporn..not my healthiest plants ever but should still be plenty good

Blue dream was hidden under the canopy for a while so she didnt develop as well as i wanted but should be enough to fill a stash jar

switching cpu coolers for the next build. Actually have two to test out for the 150w build.

Nice fit for a 3590 right over 4 heatpipes on a much nicer machined surface than the zalman copper did.. I'll post results on supras heatsink thread once i test it out
what cooler is that ?
