Hello Im currently going to build a set up like this but a lilltle diffrent: my objective to fully cover a scrog 5 by 4 feet. ^6 dwc buckets under 1 scrog net . I am purchasing 10. cxa3070 3000k but i want to buy 1 XLamp® CXA3590 LEDs 5000k for middle. so what driver do i need to run that ..it says 72v? im just learning electricity in college so im not fully sure . so i dont want to mess up. will this be over kill for scrog? or can i do 8 lights like this one and add a bunch of lilttle ones with white and red spectrum? please help i want it to be effecient but 11 lights is getting up there in cost. please help.... thank you guys :)

The advantage of led is spreading out the light. Putting one powerful one in the middle will only help that small section.

I don't know what the price difference is but I'd get more 3070 with that money if I could get more than one for it

ok noted .check this out . i am going to buy 4 _36 inch heat sinks . on those i will have 20 cree xml2 spread out and 3 _24 inch sinks with 6 cree 3050s 2 on each sink . it will go left to right 36in 12in 36in 12in 36in 12in 36in. I also am going to add 20 red cree leds they are 3w ea. what driver do I need to power all the red l.e.d's?? I will be making this at the end of this month parts are on there way. thanks for the advice(also there will be aluminum going up the middle holding it all together at each heat sink, there will be a cooling fan. what driver do i need to power 7 fans?) thanks for the help.

I'd break your posts up into separate sections to make it more readable, understandable and easier for others to answer.

Watts is volts times amps. I'm sure there are multiple combinations to add up to 3 watts so probably need the specs.

Same with the fans, can't recommend a driver without knowing the specs.

Ok. I will break up my posts sorry.

I'm super undecided on the big cree lights . I found a great deal on the 3050's .

Thinking if buying 12 3050's instead of 6 of the 3070's

Ok I would like to run 20 cree red leds
The specs are
2-2.5 operating volts
2.5 w power consumption
It's the cree xp_e

Can I run these all with two drivers?

What's a good driver size to run the cree 3050's? @ 1400 ma. Is it possible to hook up 2 cree 3050's to one driver for a total of 6 drivers?
 
I like this idea, i purchased an onix veg unit for veg it was pretty expensive, but looks promising, using the white/blue kelvin of 6500 or so. i plan to use it for veg. but i will also be putting something together after reading all this, (for flower)

subbed and looking for lots of help, willing to invest up to 1000 dollars for the right build

If there isn't much difference in price with the additional heat sinks I'd go for the 12 3050s so so you can get better light spread. I would defer to any number of guys on here though as I'm not looking at the numbers.

I'd say a fixture that would flower up to an 8x4 would be cool.

But a 4x4 would be cool too.

Flowering with ample lighting

I want my bulbs to penetratiom so Perferably I don't have to scrog but just train well.

Any bulb recommendations? I would like a 3:1 ration.

The build looks straight forward and fun to build. What seems like a like a pain is to source out all the parts. If someone sold me all the parts in a kit form I would do it. I would pay someone for there time and effort. You could take a deposit to cover some cost of materials. Just an idea. Somebody or company will make a DYI kit sooner or later. Seems to be a lot of interest.

I would make kits like that if I had the capital for stock. Don't want to load up on too many with the quick progression and price drop in led technology.

Would you include an enclosure or let the buyer figure out what they'll do to mount it to their own set up?

The CXA3070 is going for $48 from China on Ebay. If I didn't have a hard water situation to deal with I would be all over this...minus the type of heat sink that was listed. If you live close to a large metal scrap biz you can pick up a big heat sink that comes off of amps, certain welders , ect . Frys sells the Rhino fan adapters that is listed. Use a big heat sink and no fan hassles.

Why not play off the walls 1800watts and just sit ballast that shit. Get some AC capacitors and some incandescent lights. Build a half bridge rectifier out of the diodes. They'll be flashing between lights @ 60hz. Capacitive reactance is your friend here. Its like a power resistor that increases your efficiency.

AutoFem medical strains, small batches : 3 seeds batch, or 6 seeds batch depending on space available. It's seems that 3 seeds may grow into a 2 ft x 2 ft (better into a 3 ft x 3 ft ?)...
