DiY LED - Cree CXA3070

I'm interested in doing a flowering setup with 24 3000k 3070 ab's at 350mAh. I'm thinking a 3x3 area which puts it at about 15 par/sq ft. I wanted to use the 50-2234C ideal holders, but they're only rated to 250v/4amps. I'd like to use two HLG-120H-C350 to power 12 each, but if I'm to obey the ideal holder specs I must sacrifice a good deal of efficiency by splitting it into 3 or 4 smaller power supplies. At that point it'd be pointless and I might as well rethink it as a 500 or 700 mah unit.

Can the ideal holders withstand more than their specs let on at lower temps? They're rated to 110 C and I won't be anywhere near that. Probably wishful thinking. Should I just suck it up and abandon the handy holders?
Isn't that for each holder, not a series rating....I gotta look too, I run them in a series, lower voltage though, so I haven't worried about it....interesting......

If you convert 250 volts 4 amps to watts it gives you a more universal picture of what they can handle. 250v x 4 amps = 1000watts. The HLG-120h-c350 puts out 150watts and those 150 watts get split between 12 holders I personally would have no problem using those holders.

edit: You wont even come close to 110C running @ 350ma . I doubt you will see anything more then 5C over ambient with a good heat sink.

Holder data sheet. Most concerning being "Daisy chain up to 250 volts and 4 amps" http://www.farnell.com/datasheets/1814195.pdf

I'm leaning toward what you're saying Javaco, it does seem like an awfully small load even if it would be at about 400v per MW driver. Still, this could be an easy oversight in other builds.
If your worried about it, ask IDeal. Send them a email and ask them if it would be ok to run 408 volts and 350ma through 12 of them.

Quick question y'all. What Kelvin would be the best for full spectrum 3500k or 4000k or a mixture of all them(2700,3000,3500,4000 and 5000)?

The light i am working on is going to be 6x 5000k 12x 3000k and 6x 2700k. All of it dimmable so i can mix it up a bit. Will run the 5000k's dimmed if flower for sure and crank them up in veg. 2700k will be off in veg and 3000k dimmed. Went with vero 18's on them all.

Building a vegging lamp? If so I think 5K is a good choice. I am using CXA3590 5000K in half of the veg room and so far loving it. 5000K Vero is also a good choice for vegging.
I need for both veg and bloom. I already made one for each veg and bloom. I want one to do both.

New question of the day,

These wires are opposite and mismatched on most of these drivers do I just go to the same side as the wire on the dc side so left wire to left wire right to right positive nuetral these obviously are not color coded correctly

Started wiring up a veg light and realized this halfway thru

How much would it cost to build one of these that would compare to an Area 51 xgs 190?
"One of these" can be built to what ever scale you want. How much does the Area 51 cost and what does area does it cover and you'll get an accurate answer. Hell people here are so helpful you'll most likely get a detailed answer anyway.

I just ducked in here to let people know that i have a few spare CXA3070AB 3000k available, ordered too many for the project. PM if interested.

power it up and test the resistance across each wire to make sure?
