DIY LED BUILD what leds are best

Hi

I was just about to order myself a load of leds to start my project of making something similar to the 90w ufo.

I have seen a patent of the grow master and it uses a combination of orange blue and red leds with lenses to get he leds to shoot at 15 and 30 degrees.

Then I came across POWER LEDS, these are alot more expensive but I was wondering how many I would need to produce the same amount of light spectrum/lumens compared to regular LEDS.

Can anyone shed some light on the diference between the regular 1w leds and the 1w power leds before I pill the trigger on what would be easier and work best.

I have been recommended to buy 5x 3w high power leds as these are extremely powerful and could light up a small stealth grow fairly easily 1.5x1.5x 3 feet.

bluedevil have you searched the forum at all on this topic? theres many threads about LEDS here and every question you just asked is answered in them. let me recommend something to you , do your research first. look at what light spectrums you REALLY NEED and if your going to make a diy led then why are you going to mimic a shitty ufo? tri band. they have 5 band now and theres other company's that make better units than the ufos (many companys make ufos). also theres a couple of threads with electricians answering questions. all of this is most likely why no one would answer your thread.

Marijuana has peak absorption points for photosynthesis at 439nm, 469nm, 642nm, and 667nm, with peak points for carotenoids at 439nm and 483nm. If a light misses any of these points, growth will be decreased. If the light isn't matched to these points (like they used a 450nm blue instead), you won't have the same growth either. Likewise, if a company is using a 120 degree LED, vs a 60 degree LED, the one with 60 degree is going to produce better results, in a far more reasonably rated coverage area.
According to LEDGirl. Here's the permalink to the thread of controversy. BTW, they were all 1 watt LED's she explained emit the most amount of lumen per bulb. Hope this helps.

or google greenpinelane and see what testing has been done with earlier led lights.

Maybe just joining a led forum.

Or buy a ton of cree cuz they hella bright.
