DIY ez cloner question. pipe insulation?

i don't want to use net pots.

basically anything that will hold the clone upright and not allow water to leak out would work right?

neoprene pipe insulation if i get two sizes and make discs out of it, and put the clone down the middle and then wedge it in the top of the ez cloner this would work correct?
