Diy bubbleponics

The Bucket are the ones that need a little Nitrogen. I'd try a small bottle of General Hydroponics 3 part Flora series. You'll only need the grow and micro now. If you have high ppm (hard) water they make a hard water micro that I use with great success with my 375 ppm tap water. Don't know much about the grow big but if it has a nute ratio labeled then that usually is enough. In other words, nutes are nutes. Are you underdosing possibly? Is there any possiblity of nute lock up (were they doing really well and then stopped).

You can 12/12 from seed in almost any set-up hydro or soil. The big difference is in yield. I'd veg at least 3-4 weeks as a minimum. Get them to a height that is 1/3rd your head room and get the max bud you can for your trouble. 12/12 from seed is better handled by an ebb and flow tray where you can pack the plants close together and make up the small per plant yield with volume.

Yeah, Ive got a 250 cfu fan pulling air in from the bottom with a filter on it to keep dust and shit out. I've got those 2 other 250's pulling air out. And I've got a fan that blows back and forth (I know what they are called, but I cannot spell it) blowing over a bucket of water and exercising the babies. I'll set up some towels to drip into a bucket tomorrow to get that humidity up. Also, I'll increase my misting. Can't hurt. I've read on another grow journal a reference to 24/7 as opposed to 18/6 for the veg stage. Do you advise this for my light set up? I'm using a 400w MH right now. I also have a 400wHPS that I'll use during the flowering stage. Anyway, what you say? Light that tent up 24 hours a day all week or keep it at 18 light 6 dark?
Also, are you familiar with that Green Spirit strain? If so, what should I expect?

When I get on my own computer I'll join up with you guys as a bubblehead. Can't exactly save hydroponic related avatars on my roommates laptop.

Sounds like a perfect setup to me. If I designed on it would include all that. Good job! You've done your research and backed it with a little dough.

I think the 24/0 is a better idea but I was talking to someone on a dif thread and the made a good point. You'll get about 3/4 total grow speed with the 18/6 vs 24/0. I think it does matter how fast you want it to grow. Light energy is the fuel for growth. I also suspect ( but never tried) that they would snap faster to flower from 24/0 than 18/6 due to the drastic dif that would send the message to the plant to start to flower. Remember just what I would expect to happen. Also our real leader tried 18/6 and said it was a waste of time but that was with cfl's. Try it however you like. They'll both work fine.

Did some research on the Green Spirit when I was looking at my first strain possibilities. Liked the idea of the big bud stabilized by the skunk. The strain I did pick (LSD) has skunk as a base also and I was very happy with it. Sounds to me like the cross ought to be a nice overall high and lots of it with the big bud influence.

Understood! You'll be a bubblehead in waiting with a secret badge for now! LOL!

the nutes that i have are 3-2-6 and i was using it for awhile but then it looked like it had nute burn so i stopped adding them cause i got scared that my plant were gonna die. Should i start using more?...And was wondering what i would have to do to grow my plants and be done flowering with my plants no higher than 3ft cause of space issues any LST maybe ? never done it b4 though? and honesly i have no idea what ppm or hardwater mean lol?

JoJo- ppm is parts per million. Meaning for every million h2o molecules in your res. you have one part of something else. Hard water is typically tap water with a high concentration of... well anything.

Mostly- I dropped the lights down a bit. I did the hand test, and it seems fine. I'll keep an eye on them. I set my timer for manual, so it should stay on continuously. I adjusted the pH down. I was getting concerned seeing it that high, I didn't drop it all the way down to 5.4, just to 6.3. It was above 7, so I'll check it and bring it down again in about 4 hours.

If I germinate seeds a few days apart, which I did, should I wait until they all have a 1/2" taproot or just get each one going as soon as it's ready? Also, how important is it to have the new seedlings in total darkness after transplant? I'm just going to use a cookie sheet to keep the light off of them for a few days anyway until they have break the surface.

Sounds like your doing the ph adjust right. You need to nudge it down and not pound it down. As long as it's "in range" it's cool. 6.3 is in range. 5.5 - 6.5

If you are cracking seeds they need to go into the system as soon as that tap rot appears. Otherwise the tap root gets too long and easily breaks off. Just keep the light as far away as possible and things will be fine. If you cracked them a few days apart the others will catch up. None of them need light until you see something green above the rockwool.

I sincerely believe that growing pot is one of the most magical, mystical, religious, spiritual experiences we can accomplish here on this earth.

I believe that growing pot brings us to a union with some sort of angels, or great spiritual beings, or LORDS of POT GROWERS, or some high and mighty spiritual beings.

I think that growing pot is watched over by some sort of angels, or great spiritual beings that guide us and the plant's growth.

I think there is a Lord or Angel of the water, of the light (or sun), of the air (or oxygen), that brings it all together for us, leading us to a great spiritual experience.

I think there is a big reason that the Creator God made pot have 600 to 1200 seeds on a plant, and made it very hardy and nearly indestructable and easy to grow and thrive and flourish.

I think it is miraculous that I can run over an outdoor plant with a pickup truck, and flaten it out on the ground, and it will continue to grow.(I've done it)

And I think it is miraculous that I can pull up a male plant outdoors, and throw it ten yards away on rocks and dirt in the woods and it will lay there and struggle to still live and survive and it's roots will dig into the dirt seeking food. (I've seen and done it)

I think there is a reason pot grows in every hemisphere that plants can grow in.

I think it is magical and mystical that a pot plant knows whether there is a plant of the opposite sex or same sex in the general area or vicinity of that plant. Even more amazing is the fact it can make a HERMIE just to insure it gets fertlized and continues to grow.

I think it is miraculous that I can plant a seed outdoors in March, April or May, and another one in July, and August, and they will all bloom at the same time.

And I think it is a miracle that I can take something the size of a pot seed and get enough buds to keep me and a few friends high for so long and for so many times.

Mostly- Lets say, hypothetically, that I let my tap root get to 1/2 inch as I was hypothetically told I should. And hypothetically speaking, when putting the tap root into the rockwool I hypothetically broke it. How fucked is that plant going to be. Hypothetically. Also, lets say that a sprout still had its shell on it and in an attempt to free the sprout from the shell I maybe it off just under where the leaves would be. I should probably just pull that out and put another seedling in there huh.

I went ahead and put all the seedlings in except for two that I just started to germinate this morning. They are covered by the cookie sheet to keep them all out of the light.

You have to get more fresh air in somehow. With fans high and low there is no way a cfl grow should get that hot. Something isn't right about the ventilation. In the mean time it would also be good to raise the Hunidity in the tent. Higher humidity helps the plants breath better and that is especially important when the temp rises.

All i have is the oscilating fan in the pic and another same kind of fan on top of my grow tent to try to bow fresh air into the tent ...do i need a cfm maybe ? and how would i raise the humidity in the tent ? and why is my seedling dieing?

Tent has a opening at the bottom and top. You need to open that bottom vent and put one fan on the floor either just outside or just inside the lower opening. Then somehow take the other fan and mount it somehow by the top hole so you can blow the hot air out (heat rises). Maybe just change the top fan to blow out. This might help alot if you open the bottom vent as the flow out will "draw" fresh air in.

Depending on the size of your opening ( 4" or 6" on most tents) you can also get a duct booster like this at HD or Lowe's

http://www.lowes.com/lowes/lkn?action=productDetail&productId=234523-1061-DB204&lpage=none

Air movement is really important in the closed enviroment of a grow tent.

Ok so basically the tubes are feeding the hydrotons which gives/keeps the rockwool/plant wet. And the bottom of the net pots are being soaked in the water while the bubble is making oxygen to keep the soaked roots alive..So i need a pump to feed the pots that goes inside the resopvir to pots and another pump that pumps the air bubbles to the resovir using airstones etc..

So if i cut clones and put them in rockwool, i can put the clones straight into the bubbleponics without rooting the clones?

How much part of the pots are soaked in the water?

Are the water being fed to the hydrotons on 24/7 as well as the bubblestones?

How often do you change the water?

Are these only idea for female plants only. If i got a male can i just cut the plant and leave the roots?

Cant wait to make this. I got all parts ready. Hopefully i have some time this weekend.
Thanks +repped!

Basically it goes from water to water pump to 1/2" small piece of hose to irrigation distributor to feeder lines. Feeder lines are placed against the side of the rock wool about half way up and water should come out as a trickle and not a gush. The whole rockwool will be slightly wet with the topof the rockwook being less wet due to gravity. You put a little hydrotron in a net pot, drop in rock wool ( remove the plastic on the RW if plastic wrapped as some but not all are) and top with rock wool even with the top of the netcup. Yes you need 2 pumps. One for air and one for water.

How much part of the pots are soaked in the water?

Explained above

Are the water being fed to the hydrotons on 24/7 as well as the bubblestones? Yes

How often do you change the water?
Once every week to 10 days

If you find a male you must cust out plant and roots. The Male plant's roots can be cut out along with up to half of the plant's roots next to it with no bad effects

Cant wait to make this. I got all parts ready. Hopefully i have some time this weekend.

seedling dying and grow tent is 93 degrees my humidity is 38% any suggestions?

You have to get the temp down and the humidity up.
You need a fan pulling heat out and a fan pulling cool air in.
You have to have an oscilating fan on the plants.
Pour water in your container that your buckets are in.
Lay wet rolled up like a cigar wash rags everywhere.
Hang a soaking wet bath towel on a cloths hanger and let it drip into a pan or bucket.
Put a frozen milk jug of water in front of a fan or let it drip into something by putting a pin hole in it.
Get a bucket, put ice in it or frozen water and blow a fan into the bucket, blowing cool air everywhere. And you can put Pine Sol or ONA in the bucket for Odor Control.

Put saucers and cups of water everywhere.
Mist the plants with plain pH water.

No, the tubes feed into the rockwool cubes.

And the bottom of the net pots are being soaked in the water while the bubble is making oxygen to keep the soaked roots alive.

No, there is a two inch air pocket between the bottom of the grow cups and the top of the water line.

Yes, one water pump, one air pump
So if i cut clones and put them in rockwool, i can put the clones straight into the bubbleponics without rooting the clones?

It works, yes.

How much part of the pots are soaked in the water? NONE

Are the water being fed to the hydrotons on 24/7 as well as the bubblestones? Yes

How often do you change the water? Weekly

Are these only idea for female plants only. If i got a male can i just cut the plant and leave the roots?

No, you cut it all out and have to get some female root too, with no consequences, the female will not slow down any

Cant wait to make this. I got all parts ready. Hopefully i have some time this weekend.

Hey guys, I have a question. I have a chance to get some 1000w HID lights for dirt cheap. (like under 100 bucks each.) I'm going to start building an additional flowering room, will these work? Can I put hps bulbs in them?
