Doing some research I found this system.... What do you guys think? Good one for me to start with? Should I just stick with soil? Anyone have any success with that system? Also what is some easy nutes for hydro! Thanks

you can build that system for 28.00 man don't worry bout fungus but keep your water at no higher than 76 otherwise your screwed so add ice each day if you have too and want to keep this economical

Deus, I have been using a similar method, Hydro Halo Drip Rings + Air Pots + polished ornamental stones (see my multispectrum thread fr details/pics)

Plants top fed ~ 30 seconds every 30 minutes

Even though I drilled out the holes in the HH, they still clogged

This time i plan to use the APs + stones but 'flood' instead

Simpler, and cheaper to assemble

botanicare kind, dyna-gro, general hydroponics flora.

dont use anything containing organics your first run to minimize the chance of root issues.

I am thinking about just ordering one waterfarm now and transfering one of my seedlings into it and just to test it out. Then is I like it I can expand next grow...

the water temps may be an issue even if you can keep your tent in the mid 70's you may still run into water temps getting too high. get some dutch master zone to help controll root slimes and stuff growing in your water.

you can always do the frozen water bottle thing which isnt too bad if your only running one bucket.

not really trying yo argue about prices, just trying to save a guy a few bucks by doing DIY rather than spending 300% more for someone else to put the pieces together.

not sure about drip rings, not sure how much they actually help or whatnot but i do know simple DWC which is a airstone, a 5 gal buckey and a net pot is works good, is simple to maintain and is cost efficient.

im not 100% sure whats in a "waterfarm" but prob adding the drip ring would make up the same system as yout going to buy.

i know you can get a simple airpump and lines ect ect for around 5 or 6 bucks, a bucket is around 3 bucks and a net pot that fits bucket is like 2 and some change, definatly for under 20 bucks you could make a nice bubble bucket (DWC) and even buy a nice air pump with 2 outlets in case you decide to add another bucket.

if you cant find black buckets a white one and can of paint works well too. my DWC is made from a 30g wal mart tote.

Don't be scared I would buy a single water farm they are only like 50$ or build it yourself and see how it goes, it will only be 1 plant and you can continue your other plants in soil. That's how I started in hydroponics.
