Distillates flavoring.

Distillates are catching on big time. Some of these distillates are flavored with thing others than PG VG PEG or MCT. Distillate is mostly devoid of any flavors, so they add some back in.
So what do they use? Pure Terpenes are the preferred choice but pricey. I assume they try to mimic the strain they are aiming after??
But some of these distillates are flavored as actual food flavors. Like orange, berry or fruits.
I've seen Orange Sherbert, Sunset Orange or Fruity Pebbles...what could that be? Are these simply strain as well?
This seems to be a difference in the method and material being used. I'm not sure how this all works.

how do they get flavours like blueberry, apple, Skittles or bubble gum?
Terpenes exist in all kinds of other fruits vegetables and basically anything aromatic. They could extract from that or mix and match other cannabis terpenes to get a desired scent. Think colognes or perfumes.

So who here use distillates..they are pricey unless you can make them yourself. That would not legal though...correct?
I think you need the extracted oil of your choice first to make it so not legal.
Am I wrong?
