Dispensary Grower - question about strains

Hi there Folks! My name is Andrew...

Allow me to preface this with the following disclaimer. I am looking for solid advice from veterans who have sampled 20 or more strains for quality. Please curb the impulse to put your two cents in if you really don't know. I once posted this very same query and got a lot of ambiguity due to folks giving opinions not supported by strong experience. Thanks!

:leaf: I am starting a dispensary growing business. :leaf:
That means I'm licensed or will be licensed to grow for dispensaries only; sorry I'm not licensed to grow for individuals at this time.

I've tried doing research on the web, but nothing seems very informative, so I am hoping for a more definitive answer here. While I realize that my questions (see below) are somewhat subjective in nature, I am confident that, if anyone can steer me in the right direction, it is one of you folks.

THREE QUESTIONS:

I tend toward the berry or spice strains myself; let that help inform your comments 'some', but don't be afraid to speak your mind if you feel I am missing something important.
  1. What are 3 of the best smelling strains?
  2. what are 3 of the best tasting strains?
  3. what are 3 of the most potent strains that consistently have the highest levels of cannabinoids/cannibinols & not just THC?
Thank You!
Andrew

I'll try to answer your questions...

1. Best smelling strains? All depends on what ya like. You like berry or spice-type strains... hmm.
Blue dream is something a lot of people like. I'm burnt out on it myself. I really like the lemony/sage-y scent of Afghani Bullrider (plus its somewhat "rare" so if you have that, awesome) and it's clone-only. I also like the purples-- I had some GTK (granddaddy purps/train wreck/kush) and it was great smelling. Granddaddy purps and Purple Urkle, all those smell great. Also, Tangerine Dream, Orange Crush, or GT Dragon (they are all citrus-y and orange-y obviously) smell amazing and taste great, too.

2. Best Tasting? Orange Crush is good (We donate it so I've mentioned it twice), anything with a lot of citrus or lemon like Lemon G, anything berry or grape-y like Blueberry, Grape. Some people really like pine-y tastes. I don't necessarily think they are the BEST tasting. The ones I mentioned are more sweet but again I guess its up to personal preference, really.

3. Most Potent? Hash Plant is one of the more potent ones I've smoked. Along with anything Afghani (that Bullrider being no exception) or LA Confidential hybrids (she's got an Afghani heritage), OG Kush, Pure Kush-- most of the kushes actually...though again I'm partial to indicas, you might hear something different from sativa lovers :)

Hope that helps. I've definitely smoked over 20 different types of weed in my day and I am a patient myself so I am always trying new types, but those are the ones that stand out to me right now.

Hey Andrew...

We can only give our opinions,,,but I have been smoking for over 30 years, here goes.

Best smelling;

Blueberry (sweet) and a lot of blueberry crosses
ATF/MTF all the thunderfucks....skunky and earthy but unlike anything else out there, very complex
Diesel..if that diesel smell works for you, if not Blueberry Diesel :-)
And one more because you don't mention diesel in your favs...
PEZ, smells like those little "smartie" candies, and I have an Afghooey strain that has that candy smell also

Best tasting;
Blueberry
MTF/ATF
almost any Kush...perfumie sweet taste

Potent;
Thai
Diesels
Afghani

I used to love sativa, but they have been engineered so much, and so much of the cannabinoids have been eliminated that a lot of sativas make me paranoid now.

As someone in the dispensary scene, as both a grower and a patient, it's all personal opinion. There are hundreds of strains with good smells, tastes and unique potencies. But it is a personal thing. I am consistently different from other medical patients in what I prefer. I've had hundreds of strains out here. I don't pay much attention to strain anymore, but the quality of the meds. The growing process being fine tuned is way more important than the strain. . How certain are you of your process? I notice organic bud tends to be better tasting/smelling, so I check that out first usually. I've also had the same strains from different growers, and seen how radically different the bud comes out. It's not even like the same strain when they don't grow it right. I've seen a lot of weaker of not so strong strains grow to perfection, and vice versa.

I personally go for tropical or general fruit smells and tastes. Just works out better. That or sour smelling stuff. I don't enjoy weedy or piney strains. As for potent plants, those are super random. I've had crosses and hybrids that should have been fire but werent. Each strain has different drugs in it and will produce slightly subjectively different effects on different people.

See what other places carry and what goes quickly. That's the ticket.

Agreed. I'm not a big sativa lover. But like the previous poster said, too, it all just depends on personal preference and the condition that's being treated. I'm too anxious to smoke a lot of the sativas...

Hello: I'm partial to some good Pakalolo form the islands for the bouquet, Alcapulco or Panamanian for the High and I believe Thailand or Cambodian is right up there in THC/ cannibinoid profiles!
