Differences between Indica and Sativa preferences?

Hey all, I hope this isn't too nube of a question. I have been looking and cannot seem to locate a comparison that might detail or list some of the obvious differences in growing a Sativa dominant or an Indica dominant plant. I am currently growing 3 ladies 2 Diesel (Sativa dominant) and 1 CrackBerry (Indica dominant) and the 2 Sativa's are doing very well with my setup, the Indica is struggling however. It looks as if it has a serious magnesium deficiency. Here is my setup, etc.

Organic medium of 30% peat, 30% worm casts/humus (a course mixture of my worm casts and compost) and about 30% vermiculite, 2% sand, 2% gypsum dust, 3% blood meal, 3% bone meal. All in 5 gallon buckets.

600 watt hps

My temps drop down to about 12 C at night and run about 21 C during the day. I thought that I read somehwere that it is possible for there to be a magnesium lockout if the temps get too cold at night!? Is 12 C too cold? I would think not as how do plants do so well outside in the fall. I have also read that the cooler temps (below 50 F) helps to promote color (purpling specifically) of the plant.

I am on week six of 12/12 and the calyxes are starting to chub up on both plants. The bottom of the Indica seems to be outproducing the top of the plant both in triches and mass. The larger fan leaves are yellowing, curling up and break when bent. I tried adding more Mg but this did not seem to help, I flushed today with about 5 gallons of fresh water and will monitor. If someone could direct me to a comparison or if someone has some guide lines for the different feeding preferences between the 2 strains I sure would appreciate any help you could offer.

Thanks in advance,
KCG

in my experience indica doms are super Ca and Mg hungry compared to the sativas. their pH preferences vary as well. stop lettin em get so cold; if you want purple, score purple genetics! the purple you're aspiring to is because of nute lockout and poor technique. Your babies will suffer because of it.
