just started flowering cycle under 400 hps in a 26inch x 50 inch x 7 foot tall closet. i have six 3 gallon pots with 3 2' tall indicas and 3 3' tall sativas. how will i know theyre root bound? and couldnt i water them more often? are the sativas going to become root bound? im not to worried about the bubba kush. it looks nice and comfortable at 2 feet. man i think since i was forced to veg them for a longer period theyre going to be too big for the 3 gallon pots. and what symptoms should i be expecting to see?

so would i water every day? this is my first grow and i really dont want to transplant 3gallon pots into, say, dirt bags. that would be a pretty big plant to be root bound in a 3 gallon container.

if my plants do become root bound, how do you go taking care of it wioth out having to transplant? thanks for the comments.

and by the way, i have 3 plants, 18 inches tall(week 5 flower) in a 1 gallon pot and theyre growing slow but have huge bulbous pistils covered in resin and i still have 3 weeks till harvest. how do i check them to see if theyre root bound?

im not quite sure of the exact definition but signs include slow plant growth and bud production, more frequent waterings and you can tell if its root bound by looking through the holes in your container. if you can see any roots its more than likely a root bound plant. so you have to transplant. if thats the case, ill go pick up some 5 gallon dirt bags and use those, but as far as i can tell my plants arent root bound.

while too much light is possible in theory - you usually have to worry about too much heat long (and i do mean long) before you have to worry about too much light! Light during drying and curing will decrease potency.

root bound seems like a myth since weed is ... well a weed and the roots can curl around one another and become a big massive ball and still absorb nutrients and water. that might not be ideal but it doesn't seem to slow down growth or effect potency or anything. maybe a 3 ft. plant in a dixie cup might get root bound - i dunno what do you think fdd2blk?

Awesome fdd! Mines almost 3.5 feet tall in a 10" pot. It looks perfectly healthy except for the small amount of nute burn I gave it a couple weeks ago.
