hey guys I’m looking at taking preventive measures and have heard on DE before so I have ordered some,

What I was thinking is making a spray mix with the DE but also addin a pesticide into the mix sorry I dont know what it’s called I get it from my grow shop I’m pretty sure it’s illegal in the UK.

I was thinking that the pesticide part of the spray would kill anything living immediately and the DE side of the mix would possible kill any eggs that may hatch when the solution dries.

What are your thoughts on this?

Cheers

No spray. Use it dry like a bean dust. Mix into the soil.

Wear a mask. Don't use in flower. Breathing the dust can be fatal from infection.

I like captain jacks spinosad.

Ineffective against eggs. The bug literally has to walk through the DE and it gets into their exoskeleton where it tears them apart. It will work when it drys onto the leaf surface. Doesn't work when wet. You can apply it to the surface of the soil also. And did you know that if you buy food grade DE, you can drink it? Works wonders for the digestive tract. Look it up.

I had a very persistent thrip plague that was obliterated by DE. It's important to know how each plague works to treat correctly. Since I had thrips, I knew they needed to go back to the soil to pupate. I used some DE around the stem and never saw one again. DE is very useful. A thin layer on top of the soil will prevent any soft chitin insects from walking in your soil. Combine that with a spray pesticide for the plant and you will kill anything. Wet DE doesn't work. At microscopic level it looks like razors.
