I was thinking about doing 2 bars of 5 1212's each on 2 240-1400's as well, but it seemed like Incould get the best output with 1750. Does efficiency take a dive at 1750? Im on a phone so I cant open the sims unfortunately, so Im just kind of going off of the numbers others have posted. Like I saod though, i havent seen anyone running them at 1750 yet though.

Your Trying To Do The Exact Same Thing As I Did. Which Is To Run 4 1212's@240 Watts. The Issue With The 1750 Is That It Drives The 1212 To 37.5 Volts x4=150 Volts. The 1750 Has A Open Circuit Range Of 143 Volts Max. Now These Drivers Has A Over Voltage Protection Circuit And The 1750 Is 150 Volts. So When Running 4 1212 On A 1750 Your Tickling The Over Voltage Circuit Thus The Driver Limits The Current So Your Not Getting The Maximum Efficiency Out Your Driver :hump:

Ive never really tested how far you can go with HLG drivers, but from what I have read they are rated conservatively FWIW

So the fv on the 320-1750 is 183v, if what Dawg says is true about them drawing 37.5 @ 1750, 5 would be 187.5v which would bring me to the same issue no? So it CAN, but its not a good idea?
The Hlg320-1750 Has An Open Circuit Max Of 187v With The Over Voltage Protection Kicking In At 192. So Yes The 320-1750 Should Be Just Fine With 5 1212's

I Always Test My Lamps With A Kill A Watt Meter. Its A Cheap And Simple Way To Check The Actual Wattage And Amperage Of Your Light. When I Checked My 240 The Numbers Were Wonky And After Further Investigation I Found Out That My 240 Was Limiting My Current To 35.75V @1.3 Amps Light My Cob Up To 50 Watts Each Equaling 215 From The Wall. In Short What The Driver Was Doing Was Tapping The Brakes Slowing Down The Current

Ok I see, thanks. A little more wattage than I wanted to run, and those drivers are a bit more, but its worth considering. Ive been noticing it looks like most places are out of the 1212's anyways so I might have to go with vero29 or 1818's.

If Your Going 320 Watts I'd go With The Vero 29 :hump:
Id prefer to stick with the 240... or 185 and run them at 1400ma just for because they are a bit cheaper. I have been looking at vero but they are $30 each. I can do it, but Id prefer to go cheaper if I can get similar output.

@thetr33man: Ive actually been lookig at the 185-48A to run with the 1818's. I found a cool build on reddit actually Ive been looking into. Just not sure if I want to run parallel. I know it would probably be ok, but idk... it just makes me uncomfortable for some reason. Am I just being paranoid?

You Know The 1812 Ran On A HLG 240-1050 is Also An Awesome Light Also :hump:

You Know Brother When Talking Output Its Like The HPS Guy's Arguing Which Blub Is Better. Which In Fact Output Is Only Relevant To The Growers Skills. In Short If Your On A Tight Budget Then The 1212's On The 185-1400 For 4 Or 240-1400 For 5.Is The Best Bang For Your Buck :weed:

I know Im being ridiculous man. I really do. Im just being obsessive trying to find the best. I was looking at those 1812's today and they seem like a good one too. Im sure all of these are fairly close and your right, its not going to drastically effect my grow. I just hate finding something better after dropping big $$. I like to do my research... sometimes to a fault. :wall:

LMAO Brother We Have All Been Their. I Just Saw Your Other Thread And Your Head Must Be Swimming With Ideas And Thoughts. Just Pick A Platform And Go For It. I'm A Constant Current Type Of DYI'er Some Ppl Here Are Constant Voltage Nothing Wrong With Either Really Just A Personal Prefaced.:weed:

Haha good Im not alone. Yes... I have another thread. Ive been outed. I think the problem is that Im waiting on my tax return, so I can't actually go for anything at the moment. This gives my plenty of time to theory craft the shit ot of this. Once I have money in hand Ill have to just choose one. I mean, just looking at data sheets, it seems like all of the 36v chips are pretty close to eachother output wise. Some pull ahead or behind at certain currents, but they are fairly close still. 1400 seems like the popular choice. I just know a dude who runs 3590's at 1750 and it seemed like a good idea. Kind of a good middle ground between an efficient build and an output build.
