designing my closet need some input....

ok after much thought, I am going with cfls, I will keep this short, my area is 15 inches deep 27inches wide max eight is 6feet (small closet) I plan to construct my own cfl fixture (using the bathroom vanites) and y spltters 12 bulbs total will be what I can run, I want to grow maybe 8 plants in the area, my queston is what bulbs should I get what combination of wattage should they all be 42w, or some 26w I want to use the same rig for flower and veg so I know I need reds and blues but what is a good 12 bulb combination

ok I have done some research and I am going all 42w they seem to have the best lum/wat ratio as I stated I know it is basicly red flower blue veg, what about the full spectrum ??? I am just looking for the right 12 bulb combo to take me from veg to flower.... ??????

i was using all 26w in mine 8 cfl's from a vanity, in a space significantly smaller than yours, the problem with CFL's is that as much as i like them you also need to have them on the sides of the plants as well as the tops, or else you're looking at a very limited coverage area, i invested in two 26w cfl flood lights and have implemented them on the sides of my cabinet you can check my gallery and see what it looked like before with just the vanity, growth in veg was kinda slow without the extra lights on the sides, though, once i put the side lighting up i noticed a pretty significant change, if you want the right spectrum you should stick with the cool daylight(i think) bulbs for veg and switch to soft white for flower...i believe thats what it is anyway, right now im in week 2 flowering under cfl's im not doing it for a large yield, but if you are i suggest a lot more light than the vanity alone, invest in side lighting(lighting under the plants is counter-productive because they'll be stressed to grow downward instead of up and out)

you should be able to finish maybe 2 in that space think about how big they will be when done,you could try a short veg like 10-12 days and then go to 12/12 lite and keep them as small as you can.
