Snap out of it people (I'm talking to CA residents) Prop 19 is more restrictive than current state law. But 19 said it won't change medical marijuana law.....BS!!! Do your homework 19 is funded by millionaire investors who are pushing this prop along. If passed we will grow in 5x5 spaces and be able to have a ounce or less. People under 21 would still be arrested for posetion. You can smoke cigarette at 18 and those kill you. Grow up! Marijana/hemp has been a part of human history for thousands of years, don't let our rights be taken!!!!! DONT TAX ME ANYMORE!!! Marijuana is a medicine if you use it for fun or as it's intended use (medical) it is not a privledge that our goverment is giving us!! Marijuana and it's use is a right as a humanbing! Don't let this pass California. FULL Decrimalization is the only way to set this insane prohibition right!
VOTE NO ON PROP 19.

Some of the arguments aginst 19 are ridiculous, like the under 21 catch. You can't drink under 21 either... duh....

A prop that makes growing legal for all? WTH not? Cause your customers learn to grow their own? Heaven forbid people be allowed to carry an ounce on them. Many of us in other states face a year or more for the same infraction. And you are going to whine about taxation on marijuana?

Go ahead and vote no and kick back and wait to see how long it is before another prop comes along. Even if prop 20 came up in 2012, the state can still tax it. Your arguments are baseless.

Vote YES on 19!! It is a STEP in the right direction.

I'm on the other side of the coast and I can't believe the whining I hear about this.

I would feel BLESSED to have this law up for vote in my state. I would love to have my own personal garden without fear, or smoke without fear of a piss test at work, or worse getting arrested.

Can't grow in more than a 5x5 space? How much chronic do you need for yourself every harvest??? A personal grower would have no problem with this. Or is this just a defense for your own business interests?

And you know what? This law passing may be the only chance of other states considering it, hopefully where I live.

Oh, and on the 5x5 space... do you really think the police are honestly going to go through everyone's place and measure their growing area?

To that question, YES they will.

Show me where prop 19 says it supersedes medical cannabis law.

Do your homework 19 is funded by millionaire investors who are pushing this prop along.
So is every other state wide initiative ever with very few exceptions. It takes millions of dollars to get something on the ballot. If you're waiting for something to appear on your ballot that is not funded my millionaires then you're going to be waiting a long time.

If passed we will grow in 5x5 spaces and be able to have a ounce or less.
Unless you have your doctors recommendation, then nothing changes. So basically you're allowed to carry an extra ounce and grow an extra 25sq feet, and somehow that is taking away our rights.....ummmm yeah....

People under 21 would still be arrested for posetion. You can smoke cigarette at 18 and those kill you. Grow up! Marijana/hemp has been a part of human history for thousands of years, don't let our rights be taken!!!!!
No more so than they are now. It doesn't add additional penalties for underaged possession. Not giving you everything you want is not the same as taking away freedom.

DONT TAX ME ANYMORE!!! Marijuana is a medicine if you use it for fun or as it's intended use (medical) it is not a privledge that our goverment is giving us!! You call prohibition insane while urging people to vote to continue it. How ironic.

Yeah. I have the suspicion that a lot of people on here are in the "i gots mine" crowd. They are making good money off of cannabis so they don't want everyone to be able to grow their own or buy it in stores.

In a 5x5 space you should easily be able to pull a pound from even a moderate yielding strait every 2.5 months. That comes to 1.6 ounces per week. And that's a low estimate. If I don't get a pound from a 4x4 trey I'm disappointed.

If somehow 1.6 ounces per week is not enough for someone's "personal use", they could easily find a higher yielding strain and do SOG lollipops /w no veg or 4-7 days of veg. It doesn't take a phd botanist to figure out how to pull a pound and a half every 8-10 weeks out of a 5x5 trey. That would be 2.4 ounces per week.

Even if you sit there and chain smoke blunts all day long every day it'd be hard to argue that 2 ounces per week would significantly interfere with your personal use.

Oh, and btw 5x5 is the state minimum. Cities and counties are allowed to extend that limit as high as they want.

But yeah, the argument that 5x5 is not enough for personal use really means, "I sell weed and I need to grow more than that to pay bills". That's fine by me, if that's the case than it's as easy as getting a 215 doctors rec or starting your own company and growing it legally. But of course starting your own company requires effort and some people just aren't down for that. It's easier to complain.

Actually there would be no state minimum. Counties and cities can decide to simply not allow growing if they choose too.

seeing how much oakland charges for a growing license, you would also need the same amount of money as you would need to open jiffy lube or a subway franchise. Which isn't hard to do cause Subway and jiffy jube stores are everywhere, right? sarcastically of course

That's for a commercial growing licence. There is no fee for a personal recreational or medical grow.

Ya for that u get a 5x5 space. I'm not Haten I know full well that I can grow a personal supply in a 5x5. I work and grow as a pass-time and ya I would like to make some extra loot from it, I don't want to start a grow op or pay 200,000 for a grow license and I should not have to.

Please vote yes. It paves the way for other states to follow suit. I, too, am tired of growing and smoking in fear. I dont sell, I grow for myself and a couple of really close friends (and they get it free!). I dont give to kids, I am a responsible smoker, I dont drive when high, ect. This is America and only I have the right to say whats allowed in my body.

Give liberty back to the people, please.

$200k is only in Oakland. Not state wide. I've already talked to my county supervisors, there will be no such fee where I live.

As much as i admire your hippie dream, its no way a reality. We should all be happy california leaders are even compromising a proposition for legalization, these are huge steps in the right direction. For this reason alone i support the prop. For me since day one, all i wanted was to smoke in peace, i could really careless if the rich get richer off of prop 19, you act as if its not happening now. Every single thing in this world is regulated by big corporations and i expect marijuana to be no different. I would rather the billions go to our government rather then a drug cartel from mexico anyday. Trust me, voting no on prop 19 is not going to get you any closer to your hippie dream as you might think it is.

lets be honest...until it is completely legal its all pointless...all these props and bills and laws they put into effect are meaningless.they are all biased towards their own needs.they dont care about you the smoker..they care about themselves and their portfolio.if you think prop 19 will help the marijuana community..maybe..but they are not doing any of this to help YOU the smoker/grower.its all internal politics set forth to slice up this country a little finer for them to get more of a cut.so then whats next..making it 100% legal..then the corporate asshole will get there hands on things..then the corps will start determining who and what can grow...seeing as they have more control then the people and government here.you make it legal the prices will go through the roof and quality will go down...supply and demand...inflation...taxes...face facts...till we burn this country down and start over from scratch..."We The People".....are fucked

i doubt prices will go through the roof, if anything they will go down a lot. Weed right now is considered a black market commodity so prices are at its highest right now. With big corporations and local sellers trying to get their hands on this green gold will cause a lot of competition. Everyone knows competition leads to lower prices, maybe for the first year prices will still be street price but as more big corporations invest and battle each other for customers then im sure prices will begin to drop a lot.
