Decarboxylation in concentrates

Hey everyone, I have been really trying to increase the potency and qualities of my oils. When I make weed butter I always decarboxylate my weed before to convert the THCA to THC, and I do the same when making tincture. Does anyone decarboxylate before running with butane for oil?

I wouldnt unless you plan to use the bho for edibles//tinctures. You evap alot of flavas when decarbing.

But if you wanted to make bho for candy or other edibles you should be fine doing either. although doing it before might overdry it and cause it to turn to dust when you pack it so you might get excess chlorophyll/bad shit but if theyre edibles you dont have to worry about that.

I hadn't thought about the loss of flavors and terpinoids, has anyone ever made edibles using hash or hash oil? I've only made them using butter or oil.

ummmmm yes...... that's how i believe we were meant to make edibles, by what ever creator you believe in.
Do you go about the process the same way using hash oil? normal i simmer my buds in butter or oil and then strain them after a few hours, How would you go about straining hash or hash oil out? unbleached filter papers?

what i do is, get a cup of oil or how ever much the recipe calls for, and i have metal measuring cups, and i set them on my electric stove and dissolve your wax oil or reclaim and it will dissolve and blend with the oil so you dont need to strain it

If you dissolve your concentrate in 151 proof alcohol like rum, it makes cooking edibles a breeze. Actually you dont have to cook, buy your favorite cookie or whatever it may be and apply the 151. alcohol evaps. leaving the THC, plus you can leave your culinary skills or lack of behind. Make some real gourmet shit haha. This is how I make edibles for my dispensary. Just re-dissolve my Amber Glass and apply to cookies brownies or whatever you like. or take it with tea, beer, shoot it straight, use your imagination. I use 2 grams concentrate in 200ml of 151, a ml is pretty strong. so half mil for an edible is perfect. Depending on your concentrate of course.

Plus alcohol can carry more thc then fats.

How long does it take for the hash oil to dissolve into the 151? do you find this is a more effective way to make the edibles? do you decarboxylate your weed when you make the oil? I have heard that alcohol can carry a lot of thc, i often add soy lecithin to my edibles as an emulsifier to increase potency.

I agree with this method. But I only make brownies. Tried lemon bars but all the concentrate made a bitter film on top. Oil n water.. lol

it only takes a few minutes to dissolve in hot alcohol. I decarb the plant prior to making the oil, and make it for edibles. I make my oils for smoking a bit different. I think it is more effective because I don't really bake edibles anymore, hate to sound lazy or whatever but my baking was never really good anyway.

I prefer to decarboxylate my oils after extraction, so I can watch the bubbles generated, to keep track of progress. You can never do more than approximate using a timer.
